Learn more about gaining experience in our clinics below.

PUBLIC SERVICE EXTERNSHIPS
Externships help bridge the gap between the theoretical and the practical, and provide students with experiences that will give them an advantage when seeking post-graduation employment. In 2022 we began our partnership with the John Paul Stevens Foundation, which helps provide summer funding for students doing public interest work.
AREAS OF EMPHASIS
If you wish to specialize your studies, you may choose from one of three areas of emphasis offered by Idaho Law:
Native American Law
REAL WORLD EXPERIENCE DEAN JOHANNA KALB
Idaho Law has an ongoing commitment to educating students in the area of Native American Law and encouraging Native Americans to enter into the field of law. Our land-grant origins create unique obligation to serve and educate all communities in the region, including, and perhaps most significantly, the Native people on whose ancestral lands our university was founded.
Natural Resources and Environmental Law
The Natural Resources and Environmental Law program is primarily housed in Moscow. Idaho Law’s connections to nationally recognized natural resources colleges both at Idaho and Washington State University help to bolster the program with unique hands-on experiences.
Business Law Emphasis
Idaho Law offers many possibilities for in-depth study of business law. Students may choose one of three tracks within the emphasis:
Transactional Law Track
Intellectual Property Track
