National Merit Scholar Program The University of Idaho National Merit Scholar Program guarantees a full-ride scholarship for qualifying first-
year students. The scholarship covers universitydefined educational costs for basic tuition and fees, as well as room and board for those who live in a U of I residence hall for four years. Qualifying National Merit Scholars are directly admitted to the University Honors Program.
Criteria To qualify for the National Merit Scholar Program at the University of Idaho, you must:
n Be an entering first-year student direct from high school or home school
n Apply for admission to the University of Idaho n Achieve finalist standing with the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (http://bit.ly/ui-national-merit)
n Submit a copy of your National Merit Finalist letter to the University of Idaho Financial Aid Office
n Declare the University of Idaho as your first school
