Campus Impact

CULTURE OF WELL-BEING Well-being is a state of optimal health, happiness and purpose. Two of the biggest contributors to well-being are individual behaviors and one’s environment. The workplace environment has a major impact on employee well-being. Employees who report high well-being in their lives are more engaged at work.

First Place Winner

NATIONAL WELLNESS CHALLENGE liveWELL received the award for its My Healthy LIFE challenge, a sevenweek program that included 1,054 participants. Participants focused each week on evidence-based practices related to themes, such as being active, de-stressing, improved eating, and building a strong social circle. Mikylah Chidester (BS ’19 and center of photo) represented the University of Iowa at the Building Healthier Academic Communities summit in Columbus, Ohio to accept the award for UI. As a part of her internship, she assisted liveWELL in the development, delivery, evaluation and award application.

Partnerships are vital to the outcomes in this report. liveWELL would like to thank the following partners who contribute to our healthy campus community and accolades: University Human Resources, Recreational Services, UI Health Care, Integrated Health Management Advisory Group, Wellness Ambassadors, and students who contribute via internships, employment, or class projects.
