UKEN is western Norway’s second largest culture festi-val and is held every other year. Over a thousand stu-dents volunteer as fUKENtionaries to create 17 days of concerts, events and lots of fun! The UKEline-up will be packed with everything from wild concerts and shows, to world record attempts, the kid’s day, elderly’s day and much more. Central to UKEN is the UKErevue. Every UKEN we set the stage for our own show, which has won the natio-nal prize several times. UKEN has a tradition for revues that has roots stretching back to 1947, with many famous artists starting their career here, such as Jo Nesbø and Raske Menn. In addition to the revue there are many unforgettable memories created here, with concerts in the UKEtent 2 in the Aula. Great artists have visited UKEN over and
the years, such as Backstreet Boys, Kygo, Axwell & Ingrosso, 50 Cent, Veronica Maggio, The White Stripes and DJ Tiesto. The magical atmosphere created in the UKEtent and the Aula when some of the world’s biggest artists enter the stage is absolutely priceless for both the guests and the fUKENtionaries. Even though it is a lot of focus on the revue and the big concerts, what makes UKEN truly great is the broad spectre of the program and the different tasks you can have as a volunteer. We have something to everyone’s liking and three weeks of fantastic experiences makes UKEN a cultural experience you do not want to miss! DEAR FELLOW STUDENTS! Dear fellow students! This is the final opportunity to join the UKE-family – don’t let this opportunity slip away! There are only a few weeks left until UKEN kicks off, and soon you will notice that NHH and Bergen turns from grey and rainy, to green and filled with joy! We are now working hard to finish the UKEline-up, which is already starting to shape into a promising festival with MØ, Aurora, The Game and much more. Now we need even more fUKENtionaries to lay the last finish on what is going to be the largest cultural festival on the west coast in 2018. UKEN is the largest project in the student union and towards UKEN 18 we will be well above 1000 fUKENtionaries working together to create the best UKEN so far. For us to succeed with this we need talented and motivated students and there are more aspects to creating a festival than you might think of! And it is this abundance of opportunities and different tasks that makes UKEN so great. As fUKENtionary you will experience loads of fun and make new acquaintances along the way. You will have the opportunity to join the UKEcruise, the ski day, the line-up release party, fUKENtionary premiere and much more. There is actually no reason to wait – I think you should keep reading and find the position that suits you the best. UKEN Photo gives you the opportunity to do just that! Whether you are creative, structured or in need of a crash course in photography, now is your opportunity to join the amazing team of Norwegian and international photographers and be a part of some of the most anticipated UKEN events! We will cover everything UKEN has to offer - and need you on board! Own equipment or previous experience are not required, as we have high-end equipment available for use, and will teach you everything you need to know! Enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key. If you want more responsibility, in addition to being a photographer, you should apply for middle manager! As a middle manager you will work with me in order to plan and coordinate the work of UKEN Photo. Prior experience is not required - I’m looking for someone motivated and reliable who genuinely wants to make other members’ experience in the Photo team an amazing one! Revue Welcome to the heart of UKEN! We are the ones who create what will make UKEN 18 memorable for centuries. Since 1946, UKEN has been the best student revue of Norway, which has led to a bunch of victories in the Norwegian student championship. This year we are aiming even higher, and in 2018 the revue will be the best one yet! In the revue section, you get a great sense of ownership to everything you do. It is truly rewarding to see how your work eventually becomes a revue that has 10 000 people laughing. The UKEorcherstra is a central part of the UKE revue. If you are passionate about singing or playing an instrument, then you should apply to join the UKE orchestra and together we will be responsible for lifting the UKE revue to new musical heights. Through legendary parties and not to mention the UKE revue itself, you will, together with your soon-to-be new best friends, embark on a musical and social adventure with alternately six sharps and three♭’s.
Most concerts, revues and shows have one thing in common; they would have been boring without their lighting show! UKEN is going to create an all-time revue in 2018, and we need you to come join us in making this possible. Does this sound interesting? Then Revue Light is the group for you! As a lighting technician, you will participate in planning, rigging, programming and executing the lights during the show. This is the part made for people who seek to create the perfect atmosphere on stage; there’s a lot to learn here! This is a position where a lot of fun can be expected, and no prerequisites are necessary!
Nothing beats the feeling of when the stage curtain is pulled aside in front of a crowded aula. To give the revue the musical quality it deserves, I want you to apply for the orchestra. You are especially encouraged to apply if you play piano, bowed string, woodwind and brass instruments. Don’t sit on the fence - apply for a position in the UKE orchestra. Period.

Sales The sales section is the biggest and definitely most awesome section in UKEN! We will eventually be a team of nearly 400 students committed to creating the best experience for all of UKEN’s guests. Some fancy concerts, others like revue - nonetheless EVERYONE loves a real party in our basement. And who’s the boss there? SALES! The section consists of the groups fUKEN, Klubben, Aulabar, Tent Sale, Campus Lounge, Logistics, Hosting, Restaurant, Orvils delicacies and UKEcafé. All our groups will together make sure that Norway’s coolest party in 2018 is at NHH and Koengen during UKEN18! Does serving a three-course dinner of the finest quality in the restaurant or being part of hosting sound like something for you? There is only one thing to do - apply for Sales!

One of UKENs largest groups needs new fUKENtionaries. Would you like to ensure that UKENs events are safe? Are you service minded, friendly and ready for a challenge? Then apply for Hosting!
Do you think food looks best on white tablecloths? And that wine tastes best from tall glasses? Are you social, service minded and responsible? And ready to have some fun? If so, fUKENtionary Restaurant is the position for you! Your job will be to serve food and drinks during the gala dinners and events of UKEN. No prerequisites are necessary – all we are looking for is enthusiasm! Together we will give the guests of UKEN an experience they won’t forget!
As part of Hosting you will have a central role for the safety at UKENs events, and it is our task to make sure all the visitors have a safe UKExperience. As part of Hosting you will work in a team, and therefore cooperation skills are highly valued along with the ability to take independent decisions when required. Applying for Hosting requires no relevant experience. Are you worried you might miss UKEN18? There is no need to worry! The work load during UKEN is moderate, so there will be plenty of chances to party before, during and after UKEN18.
We are already a big team who are looking forward to welcome even more members. As one of the biggest subgroups of UKEN, I can guarantee you plenty of new friends and a lot of fun on the road to UKEN 18. Apply for Restaurant today!

Go to uken.no and fill out the application form. If you’re having problems with the application, you can apply by sending an email to info@uken.no. The email must include your name, age, student number, phone number, and the positions you are applying for in order of priority from 1 to 3. Please mark the email with ”Soknad UKEN 18” Meet us in ”Speilsalen” from Wednesday to Monday and remember to apply by 4pm on Monday the 15th of January.
