UKEN UKEN

ABOUT UKEN

UKEN i Bergen is one of the largest cultural festivals in Vestland, organised entirely by students in Bergen. The festival itself takes place in March 2026, but preparations are already well underway. UKEN, and the work leading up to it, will undoubtedly be the most fun, significant, and memorable experience you will have during your time as a student in Bergen. Here, you will form connections across ages, genders, and educational institutions, take on responsibilities, gain a wealth of valuable experience, and, perhaps most importantly, have an absolutely incredible time!

At the heart of it all is the UKErevyen. With traditions dating back to 1946, it boasts a history of giving many well-known faces their first moment on stage and has won multiple awards at the Norwegian National Student Revue Championships – most recently in October 2022! In addition to the revue, UKEN offers everything from large to intimate concerts, world record attempts, comedy shows, charity runs, children’s and senior days, and so much more! Among the artists who have previously performed at UKEN are 50 Cent, Karpe, Backstreet Boys, and Kygo. The magical atmosphere created when some of the world’s biggest stars take the stage is truly indescribable, both for guests and volunteers (fUKENsjonærer).

That being said, what truly makes UKEN so special is the breadth of opportunities and the sense of community that emerges within the festival. There are tasks to suit every taste, and we can guarantee memories and friendships to last a lifetime. Now, for the very first time, UKEN26 is opening applications, and we strongly encourage you to apply! Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions. This is something you definitely don’t want to miss!

GREETINGS FROM UKESJEFEN

Dear fellow student!

If there’s one thing my father told me when I started as a student in Bergen, it was to get involved in UKEN. He was absolutely right! As a volunteer (fUKENsjonær) in UKEN22, I made friends for life, and as Assistant Event Manager in UKEN24, I created memories for life. UKEN has given me some of my closest friends, tons of experience, unforgettable memories, a strong sense of accomplishment, and most of all, UKEglede – and now I can’t wait to create new UKE memories with YOU!

UKEN is Norway’s second-largest student-run cultural festival and the largest subcommittee of NHHS. With over 1,200 fUKENsjonærer, we work together to maximise student welfare and create the best possible UKEN – both for ourselves and for those attending the festival. Concerts, revues, shows, and countless other events are on the programme, offering something for absolutely everyone!

This year, we’re expanding for the very first time and need more talented people to join the team, shaping UKEN right from the start. In this hiring round, we’re looking for seven Assistant Section Managers to join the main UKEN board (StorUKEstyret) and 23 other key positions to lay the foundation for UKEN 2026.

As you explore this guide, you’ll quickly realise that there’s something for everyone.

Maybe you’re intrigued by analysing UKEN’s finances? Or chasing major sponsorship deals? Perhaps you dream of planning internal parties for 1,000 excited fellow students? Or you simply want to book your favourite artist for the Bergen stage? The most important thing is that you share our passion for creating Norway’s coolest cultural festival – and, of course, have an absolute blast along the way!

Emma Katrine Midtbø UKEsjef ukesjef@uken.no

At UKEN, we are all about ambition, and in collaboration with the municipality and local partners, we dream of bringing back the historic UKE tent to Koengen – making UKEN26 an even greater experience! At the same time, we aim to engage students from all faculties and study programmes in Bergen and look forward to uniting the entire student community of Bergen under the UKEN umbrella.

Since the first time I applied to UKEN back in 2022, I have never looked back, and I strongly encourage you to join this adventure! I can promise that UKEN will give you invaluable experience, genuine friendships – and, of course, endless UKEglede!

So, the question is, what are you waiting for?? APPLY! Stop by our stand, visit the UKE office, or feel free to send me a message if you have any questions! I’m looking forward to seeing YOU at the interview!

THE INFO SECTION

The info section is hiring!

Hi! My name is Gunn Randi, and welcome to Info! The Information Section consists of several different groups, but what unites us is that we’re the ones keeping UKEN running smoothly! It’s the Information Section’s responsibility to ensure everything runs like clockwork within the organisation and to solve any challenges, big or small. Our groups are responsible for tasks such as organising internal parties, developing UKEN’s graphic profile, designing the UKEN website, and much more. In the Information Section, there’s a group for every interest, but what we all have in common is making sure the wheels of the UKEN machine keep turning until March 2026.

The Information Section will grow into a fantastic team over the course of the year, creating plenty of fun memories together! As a member of the Info family, you’ll also collaborate closely with the rest of UKEN, giving you the chance to connect with other volunteers across all sections. Joining the Information Section now offers a unique opportunity to help shape UKEN from the very beginning! In this round, we’ll be hiring six volunteers, making us a strong team from the start! Don’t hesitate to apply, but if you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me on Facebook or via email. Hope to see you soon!

DEPUTY HEAD OF INFO

If you’re looking for a unique insight into the organisation behind UKEN, this is the position for you! If you’re excited to make your student years truly special, I highly recommend applying for Assistant Information Manager right away!

THE FINANCE SECTION

The finance section is hiring!

Finally, AR1 is here, and I need talented people who love money, beer, food, concerts, and good vibes! In our wonderful mix of capitalist and socialist Norway, finance and money are the very foundation of everything we do and create during UKEN. Without money, there would be no concerts or shows!

As part of the finance team, we play a critical role in making UKEN happen. Plus, we have a hand in absolutely everything that goes on, which means we get to contribute to and be involved in all the fun and exciting things UKEN has to offer! Our mission in the finance team is clear: to manage student funds in a way that maximizes UKEjoy. That’s why I need people who love numbers but also want to think big and see the bigger picture of UKEN.

In the finance team, we think on both a detailed and a strategic level, and we work very closely together. As the smallest team in UKEN, we’re in a great position to create the best team environment. I truly believe - and hope - that we’ll become a close-knit group that has an amazing time together!

DEPUTY HEAD OF FINANCE

As in all areas of life, I need a sparring and collaboration partner in the finance section. A right-hand person who can help me take UKEN to new heights. As Deputy Head of Economy, you play an incredibly important role and share the responsibility with me for managing UKEN's financial operations. Together, we will prepare budgets, create risk analyses, and work on UKEN's exciting accounting processes. But we will also have the opportunity to make major decisions that will shape what UKEN26 will become! Additionally, you will act as a group leader, responsible for the controllers (those ensuring the budget is adhered to), whom we will hire together in AR2.

As Deputy Head of Economy, you will work closely with me and gain a comprehensive overview of everything happening in UKEN. You will have the opportunity to influence every decision made. Moreover, you will gain invaluable experience with practical tools such as Excel, PowerBI, and much more. But most importantly, you will have the chance to work with and create joy for thousands of people!

As a deputy leader, you will also become part of UKEN's second-highest governing body, the storUKEstyret (STUS). STUS is deeply involved in shaping UKEN itself, and you will be challenged on matters beyond the finance section. As a member of STUS, you will develop a strong sense of ownership over UKEN and become part of a big family!

GROUP LEADER FUNDS

Norway is a capitalist state where money rules, but also a wonderful socialist welfare state where it’s possible to receive funding for all sorts of initiatives. As a cultural event, we are in a fantastic position where both public and private actors want to support culture. Your job will be to seize these opportunities and make the most of them. The more funding we secure, the more extraordinary UKEN26 will become. Your role will therefore be incredibly important and can help take UKEN to the next level.

As GL Funds, you will be responsible for all grant applications on behalf of UKEN. You will also have personnel responsibility for your very own team of fUKENsjonærer. Here, you’ll have full freedom to decide both the number of team members and how you wish to organize the work. Since you’ll join in AR1, you’ll also have the chance to leave your mark on the entirety of UKEN and help build a strong and positive culture within the finance section.

UKEANALYST

Why do a stock analysis when you can do a UKEanalysis?

In recent years, UKEN has accumulated an incredibly large data foundation. The only problem is that we haven’t utilized this data in UKEN's major and important decision-making processes. And when data is now seen as more valuable than oil, something needs to change. By joining as a UKEanalyst already in AR1, you’ll have the opportunity to provide UKEN with a far better data foundation than in previous years and truly leave your mark on UKEN!

With the help of your analyses, we can maximize student welfare, secure the right artist, or ensure we have the most popular drinks in the bar! So, if you want to learn more about data processing, pivot tables, and conduct analyses where you can see the physical results of your work, I strongly encourage you to apply for the position as UKEanalyst!

Hello there! Have you made it all the way to the last page without finding the perfect fit? Don’t worry – good things come to those who wait! UKErevyen is the heart of UKEN, and it’s set to keep beating strong in 2026. We’re already starting to build the amazing Revue Section, which is responsible for creating UKErevyen – known as the world’s funniest student revue!

Our section will become a family full of creative, solutionoriented, and fun individuals, all filling important and rewarding roles. We’ll spend plenty of time together in the lead-up to UKEN, building a bond that other sections can only dream of. We’ll also gain a second home – the Aula – which, with its enormous ceilings, is the ultimate habitat for creativity.

Join the Revue Section and help create the best UKErevyen in living memory!

DEPUTY HEAD OF REVUE

The Assistant Revue Manager role is for those who want to help shape UKErevyen and its section from the very beginning! Imagine standing at the UR premiere, watching the revue debut, and seeing the finished product you helped bring to life.

As Assistant Revue Manager, you’ll play a key role in major decisions – from selecting the perfect group leaders, to choosing who will write the revue, who will take the stage, and much more to elevate the revue to the next level! You’ll also assist me in shaping the revue’s strategy and budget. Additionally, you’ll become part of StorUKEstyret (STUS), giving you the opportunity to work closely with other UKEN enthusiasts beyond the Revue Section.

This role will provide invaluable experience in leading a large project. You’ll need to tackle challenges head-on, stay calm in stressful situations, and come up with creative solutions. Collaboration and working toward a common goal will be central to the job. Together, the two of us will lead a large section, but more importantly, we’ll create an inclusive and safe space where everyone can express their creativity, learn new skills, and make lifelong memories.

Do you have a passion for UKEN and UKErevyen, an insane drive, and a desire to contribute? Then apply to be Assistant Revue Manager! I promise you long evenings, big mornings, and wide smiles. In short, a year you’ll never forget!
