AS A UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES we produce experts in development tasks of working life. LAPLAND UAS runs four international degree programmes that lead to a bachelor’s degree and one such
programme that leads to a master’s degree. Lapland UAS uses pedagogical approach, which is centered on the learner. The model organises learning around projects or complex tasks. Most of the degree programmes are practical and work-oriented: students have the possibility to solve real-life problems at work. The language of instruction is English. TOURISM 210 ECTS • 3.5 years • Bachelor • Daytime studies Rovaniemi The Degree Programme in Tourism focuses on giving the students skills and knowledge required in the international tourism industry. The main emphasis and specialisation areas in the programme are Tourism Management and Experience Design. We cooperate closely with local tourism enterprises and give you an option to have your training period or study exchange abroad. Multicultural issues, sustainability, service design and business-related subjects are emphasised in this international programme. NORTHERN TOURISM 120 ECTS • 2 years • Master Master’s Degree Programme in Northern Tourism offers a comprehensive and international approach to tourism and reflects on the growing global influence and relevance of change in the north – It ´ s responsible tourism futures. Programme in Northern Tourism is based on a joint 30 credits component organised by the University of the Arctic (UArctic) Thematic Network on Northern Tourism. It brings together researchers and students from the northern universities, with an interest to steer the development of the Arctic towards a more sustainable direction. TOURISM , CULTURE AND INTERNATIONAL MANAGEMENT (TOURCIM) 120 ECTS • 2 years • Master TourCIM programme is based on the belief that the socio-cultural dimension is essential in fully understanding and implementing responsible tourism - It ´ s contemporary, innovative management. The two-year programme gives you the opportunity to advance your knowledge and understanding of contemporary tourism and responsible business practices and strategies. It is run by one of the leading tourism research and education centers in the Nordic countries: the Multidimensional Tourism Institute (MTI).

Faculty of Art and Design carries internationally acclaimed work in winter, environmental and community art and applies service design and art education methods innovatively. Exchange studies can be chosen from six degree programmes: Art Education, Audiovisual Media Culture, Clothing Design, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, and Interior and Textile Design. Faculty of Education hosts primary teacher training and a degree programme in education. At the faculty you can complete individual courses in English in following minor subjects: educational psychology, gender studies, global education, special education and Media and Digital Technology in Teaching and Learning. Two minors study modules, Global Education and Bridging Studies in Media Education, are also offered in English. At the Faculty of Law we study law and justice comprehensively, addressing a range of different sectors of society. The Institute of Air and Space, Institute of Commercial Law, and Institute for Law and Informatics operate at our faculty. A wide range of studies in English are offered suitable for exchange students. Faculty of Social Sciences provides studies in various social scientific major and minor subjects and offers competitive social scientific education, which is organised in four subject groups. They have altogether seven major subjects: Administrative Sciences, Applied Psychology, Management, Political Sciences, Social Work, Sociology and Tourism Research. You can do exchange studies in seven major subjects and numerous minor studies.
