or more than 70 years Lake Úlfljótsvatn has been a "home away from home" for Icelandic scouts of all ages. Today, Úlfljótsvatn Outdoor and Scout Center is also a popular family and group holiday destination, enjoyed by people from every corner of the world and all walks of life. Building on our scout heritage, we offer accommodation, meals and program activities for families, groups and indiduals. Our friendly staff will welcome you and help making your stay enjoyable and memorable. Úlfljótsvatn is an ideal place to set up "base-camp" during your time in Iceland. Apart from offering one of the largest campsites in Iceland, we also offer indoor sleeping for more than 80 people and everything from a breakfast to full board for our guests. For those coming from far away, our equipment rental might save on airline fares and hassle. FInally, our program activities will help you get the most out of your stay in Iceland. How to get there?

Program activity guide Thanks to our own facilities, experienced staff and co-operation with some of Iceland’s most respected tour providers, we are able to offer our guests a wide variety of activities and tours, divided into four sections:
Earth – focuses on hiking, running, biking and other bipedal adventures. Page 5. Water – focuses on sailing, paddling, fishing and other water based adventures. Page 6.
Wind – focuses on guided adventures by coach, boat or horse. Page 7. Fire – focuses on extreme sports, traditional sports and crafts and mixed adventures. Page 8. 12 Water Safari An on-site obstacle course, built on water. A great fun and all free! You can rent safety equipment. How do I book for my group? Booking your group's trip to Úlfljótsvatn is simple. The center staff can assist you in customizing your tour, or you can use one of our ready-made packages. For booking, please contact ulfljotsvatn@skatar.is
Booking procedure
To make sure you can reserve the time that best suits you, it's advised to make booking as soon as possible. The booking procedure is as follows: 1. Make a provisional booking for accommodation or camping Reserve accommodation or camping at the time you wish to visit. 2. Confirm booking with deposit From the time the provisional booking is made, you have four weeks to confirm the booking by paying a deposit. (For same year summer bookings, made after May 1st, confirmation is required within 10 days.) The deposit amounts to 1 night of camping/indoor accommodation for each person in the group, and is non-refundable. If the deposit is not made within given time, we consider the provisional booking to have been cancelled. 3. Book program, meals, transfers and tours Once the deposit has been made, you can add meals, tours, coach transfers and program activities to your booking. Our staff will gladly answer all questions about all our services before you book, but only after the deposit has been made will they add them to your invoice. Keep in mind that full board is always included in indoor accommodation. 4. Pay final balance The final balance is due no later than 8 weeks before arrival (10 days after deposit is paid, for same year summer bookings made after May 1st). This includes all fees for camping/indoor accommodation, meals, tours, program, coach transfers and other services. Should payment not be made within given time, a 5% late-fee is added to all items on the invoice.
Cancellation/changing

Sometimes you need to cancel your bookings, for one reason or another. It's OK, we understand. Our policy is that the deposit is non-refundable. The remaining balance is refundable up to 8 weeks before arrival, and 50% is refundable 4-8 weeks before arrival. After the point of 4 weeks before arrival, we do not issue refunds. This applies to cancellation in full, cancellation of individual booked items (tours, catering, activities etc.) and a decrease in number of guests. Should our staff cancel any on-site activity your group has booked, i.e. due to bad weather, you will be issued a refund on-site. Do not hesitate to contact us with requests to change dates or move items in your itenirary around. As long as it doesn't affect 3rd party fees or purchased supplies, we'd be happy to assist without extra cost.
Allergies/dietary needs/other needs
If any participant in your group has food allergies or speial dietary needs, please let us know at the time you order catering for the group. If an allergy is potentionally life thretening, please clarify and discuss what measures your group has taken (i.e. medicine, training etc.). Finally, if any member of your group has other needs that you feel you might want to discuss with usm such as with mobility, do not hesitate to contact us at ulfljotsvatn@skatar.is.

Accommodation and catering When visiting Úlfljótsvatn Outdoor and Scout Center, you can choose between camping or indoor accommodation.
Indoor accommodation
Your group will stay in one or more of our three main huts; JB, DSÚ or KSÚ. All rooms have bunkbeds with fresh sheets and range in size from 2 persons to 8 persons. All bathrooms are shared. Included in accommodation fee is full board, showers, access to a group room, fishing in the lake, wi-fi in main huts and more. Minimum group size in indoor accommodation is 16 people. Group rooms
Depending on availability, you can rent a group room or dining room seperately. Great idea for campers who want to have a place to socialize. Group camping
Our campsite is one of the largest in Iceland and has a five star rating. Included in camping fee are showers, access to the small group dining room in the service center, fishing in the lake, wi-fi in the service center and more.
