The Green Palette SUMMER WORKSHOP 2013

The Philosophy Behind Our Curriculum RESOURCE:

We rst learn about the recycled materials we are using, such as where they come from, how they are made, and if/how they are being recycled.

Integrating recyclable design, art and philosophy, with education. www.facebook.com/TheGreenPalette (845) 594-8476 215 Main Street, New Paltz designgreenteam@gmail.com http://www.the-green-palette.com

RE-USE:

The next step is showing children to create art from the recycled material. The key in this part is injecting mathematical theories as the inspiration in developing the art.

REFLECT:

The nal essential part of our curriculum is reecting upon what we created and learned.

Y OUNG AD ULT S RE TREAT M A R C H 12 - 17, 2013

Take a break, touch some peace, and find your flow this Spring at the Young Adults Retreat at Blue Cliff Monastery. Learn how to drop your stress, anxieties, and the nagging voices inside. At the retreat, we’ll learn how to reconnect body and mind and find again our equilibrium and wonder for life. This retreat will give us the time and space to explore how to reclaim our freedom, and how to carry it with us even during the most hectic of times. We will learn tools of mindfulness - the art of living in the present moment in order to intimately touch and nourish our inner happiness. As a group, we’ll have the chance to deeply and safely explore: • relationship issues • anxieties and uncertainties about the future • strong emotions • our deeper aspirations and direction in life. Together we will share delicious mindful meals, have Deep Relaxation sessions, and practice meditation (both sitting and walking). Never meditated before? No problem! This retreat is open for new and experienced practitioners alike! We’ll also get some practical guidance during talks given by monastics at Blue Cliff. Activities will also include forest walks, circle-sharing, and opportunities to express ourselves creatively through music, (bring your instruments), art, and dance. There will also be time for us to quietly reflect on everything we are experiencing. Anyone between the ages of 18 and 35 is warmly invited to enjoy and experience the healing and happiness of mindful living together with us. FOR FURTHER INFORMATION, PLEASE CONTACT: WWW.BLUECLIFFMONASTERY.ORG/RETREATS EMAIL: OFFICE@BLUECLIFFMONASTERY.ORG 3 MINDFULNESS ROAD, PINE BUSH, NY 12566 TEL: 845.733.4959 X21
