PETER D. CURRY CHANCELLOR’S AWARD
As a past UMSU Representative, Chairperson and Board Member, Rennie Zegalski has made outstanding contributions to the University of Manitoba and the Asper School of Business.
Before graduating with a BComm(Hons.) from the I. H. Asper School of Business in 1995, Mr. Zegalski was an active participant in student activities and served as UMSU Representative for Asper. He proudly assisted with UM’s Shinerama campaign, a fundraiser for the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Canada, first taking on the role of chair in 1992 and continuing to be involved until he graduated.

As a graduate, he went on to volunteer with Shinerama at the national level and was a national team leader, advising and consulting on 10 campus campaigns. He served as Chairperson of the Young Associates of the I. H. Asper School of Business, and also joined the UM Alumni Association Board of Directors, serving the last two years as Alumni Association President.
Serving nine years as an elected member to the University of Manitoba Board of Governors, he chaired the Finance and Administration committee for four years and served as Chair of the Board in 2017, his last year on the board. During his time on the board, he was active in the development of IG Field, ARTlab, the Active Living Centre and the Southwood Lands.
Mr. Zegalski is currently a Principal with Capital Commercial Real Estate Services Inc., a leading commercial real estate brokerage in Manitoba, as well as a partner in Capital Property Management Inc., one of the largest commercial and residential property management companies in Winnipeg. He continues his involvement with UM as an active member of the Associates of the IH Asper School of Business.
The University of Manitoba is proud to honour Rennie Zegalski with the Peter D. Curry Chancellor’s Award for outstanding contributions to the University.
