Our newest residence hall is the most modern living facility on campus. Split into two main residential buildings with a state-ofthe-art dining facility as a connector, the beautifully designed community houses 1,210 students in fully-furnished single and double occupancy rooms.
Balsam & Spruce Designed for academic and social success, the residence halls feature computer lounges, maker spaces, performance practice areas, classrooms, and plenty of outdoor gathering space. Large lounges with kitchen areas promote independent living. There are study areas and access to high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the entire community, plus free laundry with an app to remotely monitor your laundry’s progress.
The Grove Centrally located between Balsam & Spruce is a massive dining hall with seating for 800. The dining area is based around a marketplace concept, serving cuisine from around the world along with vegetarian and vegan options.

The MassTransfer program is a collaboration between the Commonwealth’s 15 community colleges, public four-year universities, and UMass campuses. The agreement includes A2B Maps, A2B Pathways, and Commonwealth Commitment. If you complete an associate’s degree from any Massachusetts public community college, you may be eligible for MassTransfer.
Benefits include: • no application fee • guaranteed admission to UMassD if you have a 2.5 GPA • tuition credit of $1,417 with a 3.0 cumulative GPA • automatic satisfaction of the Gen Ed Foundation requirements except 2 upper-level courses • 60 credits applied toward your UMassD bachelor’s degree • early registration for classes
Commonwealth Commitment (ComCom) mass.edu/MAComCom When you complete an A2B Map associate’s degree within 2.5 years at one of the Massachusetts community colleges and complete your bachelor’s degree in 2 additional years, in addition to MassTransfer benefits, you may qualify for: • freeze on all tuition and mandatory fees on program entry • 10% rebate off tuition & mandatory fees at the end of each successful semester You’ll see a reduction in tuition and mandatory fees by an average of $5,090 over four years.

Scholarships and financial aid Merit scholarships are available for outstanding transfer students for the fall and spring semesters based on their cumulative GPA at the time of application review and are renewable. • Chancellor’s Transfer Scholarship - 3.5 or higher • Dean’s Transfer Scholarship - 3.25 or higher • Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship Award - active members with a 3.0 or higher Transfer students are also eligible for need-based financial aid. Students who apply for aid must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Our federal student code is 002210.
