UMass Law is located in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, a beautiful coastal community conveniently situated 30 minutes from Cape Cod and Providence, RI, and about an hour from Boston, MA.
The Massachusetts SouthCoast offers an affordable cost of living, scenic beaches, and extensive running and biking trails where you can enjoy a study break outdoors.
Within a mile of campus, you’ll find everything you need—shopping, restaurants and cafes, and a variety of entertainment.

Transportation
Parking at the UMass Law campus is plentiful, and there is easy access to I-195, Route 24, and Route 6.
International airports are located in Boston and Providence.
A free shuttle service is available between the law school and the UMass Dartmouth campus. The UMass Dartmouth main campus has bus service to Fall River, New Bedford, and Boston.
On-campus housing
Graduate housing is available on UMass Dartmouth’s main campus, a short distance from the UMass Law campus. The apartment-style accommodations provide you with ready access to all the activities nearby.
Off-campus housing
Urban housing can be expensive, especially in Boston. Accommodations in or around Dartmouth, New Bedford, and Fall River are affordable, and the UMass Law admissions office can provide a list of local rental units.

Practical experience
Given our proximity to many law firms and organizations, as well as multiple court systems, internships abound at UMass Law. You’ll find opportunities to gain hands-on experience in private practices, corporations, government, the public sector, and law school clinics.

Co-curricular activities
On the law school campus, students attend lectures by guest speakers and participate in professional workshops and conferences. They enjoy socializing at sporting and casual events, including a variety of student organization outings. Additionally, our students are involved in community service and enjoy volunteering at Sharing the Harvest Community Farm in Dartmouth.
