Your engineering courses will be dynamic and practical. You’ll participate in team activities, projects, and assignments. You’ll conduct experiments, collect data, and analyze information as you learn engineering from the ground up with professors who are on the cutting edge of research.
In your first year, a specially designed course immerses you in multi-disciplinary engineering activities that have you working in teams and gaining hands-on experience. The Corsairs have a long history of outstanding athletic performance. We compete in the NCAA Division III, and about 500 UMass Dartmouth students participate on 25 teams. In addition to successes on the court and in the field, our student athletes excel in the classroom, earning higher average GPAs than the student population at large.

How to apply Important deadlines • October 1 – Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available for completion. • November 15 – Early Action application deadline. You’ll be notified in December. • Biology, engineering, and nursing are highly competitive programs; applicants are encouraged to apply early. • Regular Decision applications are reviewed once they are complete, and decisions are made as soon as possible. • February 1 – Nursing applicants’ priority application deadline. • March 1 – priority deadline for admissions applications and for filing the FAFSA.
Alternative admissions
Transfer students
Students who have completed high school or the equivalent, and whose academic performance may not demonstrate readiness for university-level work, may be eligible for admission through College Now or START. These programs have an application deadline of February 26.
We work to maximize the transfer credits from your previous coursework, and we have formal agreements with all Massachusetts state public community colleges, as well as with Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology, the Community College of Rhode Island, Dean College, and Quincy College. These agreements provide qualified students with guidance about pursuing a bachelor’s degree along with expedited admission.
