Launch your nursing career
Comprehensive nursing education You will begin nursing courses in your first year and build a strong core of knowledge in select science courses. A faculty advisor will work with you throughout your program to help you achieve your career goals. Before you go into the field, our modern nursing labs provide you with the tools and equipment you’ll need to learn how to assess patients, interact with colleagues, and utilize complex management software. During your second and third years, you will experience clinical placements at partner sites throughout the region, including renowned hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities. Your capstone experience—held in your final semester—will allow you to synthesize

acquired knowledge and apply that knowledge in a clinical setting.
In addition to our traditional BS degree program, the College of Nursing & Health Sciences offers two additional BS degree options in nursing that prepare you to become an integral member of any healthcare team. RN to BS Program This program provides registered nurses an online baccalaureate curriculum with individualized support. It is a degree completion program for those who already hold a valid RN license in the state where they reside. Students may transfer non-nursing course credits from other accredited institutions to meet most program requirements.
Second Degree Accelerated BS in Nursing Program
Throughout a patient’s medical journey, nurses are the watchful guides who identify and advocate for their needs. From ensuring the most accurate diagnosis for their patient to educating the public about critical health issues, nurses are at the forefront of their healthcare teams and key leaders of public health initiatives worldwide.
Students already holding a bachelor’s degree in another discipline from an accredited institution can apply for the accelerated BS degree in nursing. This full-time program can be completed in 17 months and prepares students for the NCLEX exam and practice. In this hybrid program, fully online classes are complemented by on-campus interaction for laboratory, simulation, and testing requirements. Students should plan to be on campus for at least three full days per week for clinical work in addition to their full-time online courseload.
