Engineering Your engineering courses will be dynamic and practical. You’ll participate in team activities, projects, and assignments. You’ll use leading-edge technology and equipment to conduct experiments, collect data, and analyze information as you learn engineering from the ground up. Prepare for your future In your first year, you’ll take a specially designed course that immerses you in multi-disciplinary engineering activities. You’ll work in teams and gain hands-on experience. In your senior year, a capstone project will enable you to demonstrate your engineering knowledge and skills with a team of your peers. Internships abound with companies like Apple, Bose, and Lockheed Martin. And our professors work with undergraduate and graduate students to conduct research for organizations like the National Science Foundation and National Institutes of Health.

Dr. Gaurav Khanna and his physics students harnessed the processing power of 176 Sony PlayStation 3 game systems to create a supercomputer to study stars, gravitational waves, and other research areas.

You’ll work in our state-of-the-art Simulation Lab with adult and pediatric models that allow you to assess and treat the same ailments that you’ll find in real-life examination rooms. Once you’ve made a diagnosis, you’ll track “the patient’s” condition in “his” chart with the latest software. When you’re ready to continue beyond your bachelor’s degree, the College of Nursing offers master’s and doctoral programs.

Nakira Examond ’19 2017 Little East Conference Player of the Year Nakira led the UMass Dartmouth women’s basketball team to the program’s first-ever NCAA Division III Tournament last season. Nakira earned First Team All-New England honors from both D3hoops.com and the New England Women’s Basketball Association. The psychology major hails from New Bedford.
