How to apply for Financial Aid Law Financial Aid Services would like to congratulate you on your acceptance to UMass Law and offer our assistance in financing your law school education. We strongly encourage you to contact us to discuss your law school financing options or to request a meeting. Our office is located within the Law Enrollment Center (LEC). You can also visit the financial aid section of our website: umassd.edu/law/admissions/financial-aid/ Our financial aid packages consist of scholarships awarded during the admissions process, Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loans and, if needed, Direct Graduate Plus Loans. Though scholarships are automatically applied to your account, you will need to complete the following steps to obtain your educational loans.
• Complete and submit the 2019-20 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) using our school code 002210 after October 1: www.fafsa.ed.gov
• Complete a Direct Unsubsidized Loan Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Entrance Counseling for Graduate and Professional students: www.studentloans.gov.
• Submit any additional required forms or documentation to Law School Financial Aid Services.
All financial aid recipients: Complete and submit the 2019-20 UMass Law Financial Aid Application, available in the Forms & Policies section of our website. The 2019-20 Cost of Attendance Budgets will be determined in early July. At that time, you can precisely calculate your total financial need and determine if you will apply for a Direct Graduate Plus Loan. If so, you will also have to complete a Direct Graduate Plus Loan Master Promissory Note (MPN) at www.studentloans.gov. Under certain circumstances, additional documentation may be required to obtain your Graduate Plus Loan.
