The Corsairs have a long history of outstanding athletic performance. We compete in the NCAA Division III, and about 500 UMass Dartmouth students participate on 25 teams.
In addition to successes on the court and in the field, our student athletes excel in the classroom, earning higher average GPAs than the student population at large. Last year, nearly 50 studentathletes earned All-Conference honors from both the Little East and MASCAC.

UMass Dartmouth’s newest residence hall (opening in fall 2020) will be the most modern living facility on campus. Split into two main residential buildings with a state-of-the-art dining facility as a connector, the beautifully designed community will house 1,210 students in fully-furnished single and double occupancy rooms.
In the new first-year residence halls, students will live in communities with individual lounge and study spaces on each floor.
The community common areas are intentionally designed for academic and social success with multiple computer lounges, makerspaces, performance practice areas, and classrooms. Additionally, the new community will feature plenty of outdoor gathering space with seating.

UMass Dartmouth offers 12 dining options on campus–from our Marketplace serving a variety of meals to our cafés, on-the-go carts, and late-night dining.
We offer traditional residence hall suites, apartments, townhouses, and living learning communities–and we guarantee you will have housing for all four years.
Large lounges in each building will feature kitchen areas to promote independent living, which are perfect for satisfying late-night cravings without the need to leave the building. There are study areas and access to high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the entire community, plus free laundry with an app to remotely monitor your laundry’s progress.
Centrally located between the residential areas will be a massive dining hall with seating for 800. The dining area is based around a marketplace concept, serving cuisine from around the world along with vegetarian and vegan options.

How to apply
Important deadlines
• October 1 – Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available for completion.
• November 15 – Early Action application deadline. You’ll be notified in December.
• Biology, engineering, and nursing are highly competitive programs; applicants are encouraged to apply early.
• Regular Decision applications are reviewed once they are complete, and decisions are made as soon as possible.
• February 1 – Nursing applicants’ priority application deadline.
• March 1 – Priority deadline for admissions applications and for filing the FAFSA.
Alternative admissions
Students who have completed high school or the equivalent, and whose academic performance may not demonstrate readiness for university-level work, may be eligible for admission through College Now or START.

Transfer students
We work to maximize the transfer credits from your previous coursework, and we have formal agreements with all Massachusetts state public community colleges, as well as with the Community College of Rhode Island, Dean College, and Quincy College. These agreements provide qualified students with guidance about pursuing a bachelor’s degree along with expedited admission to UMass Dartmouth.

Cost of attendance 2019–20
RI residents are charged a full-time tuition rate of $19,506. All other New England residents are charged the full-time tuition rate of $30,103 and are eligible for a $10,597 New England Tuition Rate adjustment. This rate became available in fall 2018 to first-time full-time undergraduate day students.
