It is so exciting and rewarding to serve as your National Alumni Association 2nd Vice President and Membership Chair As we embark on this new membership year beginning, I want to take time out to remind you all that membership dues are due every year on July 1 Your membership is effective from July 1st-June 30th. We offer regular memberships for UMES graduates, associate memberships for Hawks that attended UMES but did not graduate UMES and life membership for UMES graduates wishing to relieve themselves of yearly national dues Becoming a member of the National Alumni Association has many benefits to include exclusive university and alumni updates as well as priority information about homecoming each year. Let's not forget about networking with other alumni, opportunities to support our illustrious alma mater, and of course opportunities to support current and future Hawks! Join us today! MAYOR OF POCOMOKE CITY

Todd Nock, aPocomokeCity,Marylandnativewas namedMayorofPocomokeCityandsworninonApril11,2023 Todd is the youngest elected official in Pocomoke City's history. He matriculated through the public schools of WorcesterCounty;graduatingfromPocomokeHighSchoolin 2008. He later graduated from University of Maryland Eastern Shore in 2020. Nock was elected to the 4th District Council seat on April 3, 2018. In 2019 Nock became the First Vice President of Pocomoke’s City Council. On April 11, 2023, Nock was sworn in as the first black Mayor of Pocomoke City Nock serves on the Maryland Municipal League Board of Directors, Maryland Municipal League Executive Committee, Critical Area Commission for the Chesapeake & Atlantic Coastal Bays, Maryland Black Mayor’s, Worcester County Democratic Central Committee, National Young Municipal Leaders Advisory Board, National Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials, and The National Racial Equity and Leadership Council,TheNationalSmallCitiesCouncil,The

Nation Human Development Committee, and is currently the President of the Eastern Shore Association of Municipalities Todd is currently employed by Dorchester County Public Schools, changing livesatMacesLaneMiddleSchoolinCambridge.Toddiscurrentlya member of the New Macedonia Baptist Church. He is an avid Maryland athletics fan, he loves the Baltimore Ravens, Baltimore Orioles and the University of Maryland Terps. One of his favorite scriptures is “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hathpreparedforthemthatlovehim”–1Corinthians2:9--

Want to give back to UMES but your time is limited? Want to give back to UMES but you do not have an alumni chapter in your area? Consider being an alumni recruiter. Training is virtual. A polo shirt and name tag will be provided to you once you have completed training and signed up to cover an event. You must recertify annually and cover at least one event per year.
