We challenge you to find another public institution integrating this many renewable energy platforms together in one location. At Morris, wind turbines create thousands of kilowatts of electricity, and on average we are off the grid more than 100 days of the year. Our biomass gasification plant turns corn cobs into heating and cooling for campus buildings. A solar thermal system provides hot water to our community pool, and solar photovoltaic modules provide power to the science building.
