RESIDENTIAL LIFE & HOUSING

Learn, Live, Experience, Grow

FY: The First Year Experience: This community gives first-year students with similar academic and/or social interests an opportunity to live together, while exploring and familiarizing themselves with all the resources that UMSL and the surrounding communities have to offer. Honors: The Department of Residential Life and Housing supports the mission of the Pierre Laclede Honors College (PLHC) by offering programs that tie into a liberal arts approach to learning.

Learn–Living on campus is ideal when it comes to academic and personal success. We’re determined to see our residents do well in the classroom as well as discover their potential as a person. Live–Living is more than just eating, breathing and sleeping. Living is everything that you do in between. Make those moments count with the variety of options at UMSL! Experience–When you live on campus, you discover different cultures, learn how to be part of a team and take care of yourself. The UMSL on-campus experience prepares you for the real world. Grow–From move-in day to graduation, we’re here to support you and help you achieve your goals!

Greek: Residential Life and Housing works with the Office of Student Life to support our Greek-affiliated students with developmental opportunities that reinforce the academic, life, leadership and social skills promoted by their respective international organizations. International House: The student leaders who reside in the iHouse welcome new international students to UMSL and promote intercultural interaction between all UMSL students. SOAR: The SOAR community focuses on transitional programs that will help our upper-class students when they graduate. Students who reside in this community have a wide array of academic goals and interests. SY: The Second Year Experience: This community supports our second year students by exposing them to the concepts of community involvement, service, learning and leadership development. SUCCEED: This learning community is for our students who are enrolled in our SUCCEED program. The program is a post-secondary program for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities ages 18 through 25 years.
