TRITON CHALLENGE During the first six weeks, we challenge all new students to complete at least 8 events around campus. These events highlighted will allow you to swipe ID at these events to upload and tally your attendance. If you complete 8 events, (2) events from each category, you will be eligible for prizes that will be given out at our Mid-Semester Extravaganza event. Throughout the book you will notice color logos that represent the following categories:
Serendipity Sendoff
Anthropology at UMSL
The Serendipity Sendoff will welcome new students to the Triton family and officially kick off the new academic year. The Serendipity Sendoff will include a ceremonial passing of the torch to the incoming class. Serendipity which means “good fortune” is to represent many things but mostly a special meaning of accomplishment for getting to UMSL and now starting this new journey and experience at UMSL. Following the sendoff will be the Welcome Picnic.
If you’re an entering freshman, transfer student, or just interested in Anthropology this get together is for you. Learn about the four fields of Anthropology, learn about the faculty UMSL has to offer, and take a tour of the department while meeting faculty along the way.
