Welcome to the 2012-2013 season of UNB Swimming! From the pool deck: Coach Robin Ferdinand We had a great year last year and are looking forward to an even better season coming up! Although we will miss the graduating swimmers, we look forward to a fresh group of incoming athletes, led by Gabby Doiron of Saint John, Amanda Greene of Moncton and Jordana Stanford of Fredericton on the Women’s Side, and Keelan Mooney of Yellowknife on the Men’s Side, and we look forward to seeing more fresh faces on the deck in September.
Can’t wait to see you in September!
Our first meet of the year is the Amby Legere meet at UNB Oct. 19-21, 2012 and we would love to see the bleachers packed!
We’ll also have a fresh face on the coaching side - I am happy to announce that Melanie Melanson will be joining us as an Assistant Coach for this season. Melanie is currently working on her Swimming 301 certification (formerly Level 3) and has been named to the Canada Games 2013 Coaching Staff as a Female Apprentice Coach. Mel has extensive experience in and out of the pool as a former CVAC Swimmer and Dal Tiger, and most recently she was on deck as a CVAC Coach since graduating. Melanie knows what it takes to be a Champion and we look forward to her enthusiasm and experience on deck. The SMA Pool is also getting a fresh face, with an updated filtration system and updated locker rooms. The pool will be opening on September 10th and we’ll be starting water workouts then! See you at the Pool!
