Historically, “chamber music” was classical music performed by a small group of string instruments in a rather intimate room or palace chamber. UNC’s School of Music adapted the form of entertainment last Tuesday, and presented to UNC students and faculty the UNC Chamber Music Marathon. While still performed in the compact Milne Auditorium, the students reinvented the traditional score and gave it their own unique twist, with 40 performers spanning 10 acts and three ensembles.
