Ted Minty Hello my name is Ted Minty and I’m running for the position of VP of Education here at Bangor. I want to be able to enable students to gain the best results from their time here in Bangor, I believe I can best achieve this by running as VP. If elected I’ll do my best to achieve this goal. If elected it is my intention to produce and provide a booklet clearly explaining the responsibilities that the universal and its staff have towards us students. I also intend to provide easier access to information to students regarding assessment methods and how they can seek additional feedback with the aim of helping them to improve academically. It is also my intention to have an open door policy should I be elected. Any student of this university may feel free to arrange a meeting with me to discuss issues they may have. I am a friendly and outgoing individual with numerous interests who is willing to hear the concerns and opinions of my fellow students over their education here at Bangor. I am also currently a committee member for two society here at Bangor and take an active role in improving them for members. I have chosen to put my name forward for this position at the urgings of fellow students and my own frustration regarding the issue of poor feedback and the lack of information provided to students as to how they may seek additional feedback. I believe the key function of Bangor Students Union is to provide support to students in their endeavours here at Bangor and to help them equip themselves for a happy and productive life. If you choose to elect me as VP I will endeavour to support you in your education. Many thanks for reading my manifesto, and I hope to be able to speak to you when campaigning starts

Emmanuel Asante The greatest thing that makes our world a better place is not just the nature but the people in it. It is even much better in Bangor university because WE’RE ONE PEOPLE WTH ONE GOAL. We’re people belonging to many societies and a body belonging to one powerful union – Bangor Students Union. My vision for the position of vice president for societies and volunteering is to build a much more robust societies and volunteering in Bangor University. CAPACITY BUILDING; I believe the size of your vision should be equal to your efforts and capabilities. This will be a regular training and development for leaders of societies who’re the strongest link to students. There will be experts in the field of organisations & people from both within and outside the university to help the capacity of our future leaders. As Warren Bennis said, ‘Leadership is the ability to translate vision into reality’. SOCIETY EVENT PROMOTION; Bangor university has a reputation for best societies in UK, however, program attendance is always low due to ineffective promotion. In my first 100 days of office, there shall be a fully empowered media team to promote activities through live streaming, social and traditional media broadcast and more innovative ways of reaching wider audience. I HAVE A CHARGE TO KEEP AND PROMISE TO GLORIFY. I shall also promote inter-university and intra-university cultural activities. This will be done by identifying and collaborating with societies and other universities to show the rich Welsh and multicultural diversity and inclusion in Bangor. Mahatma Ghandi said, ‘OUR ABILITY TO REACH UNITY IN DIVERSITY WILL BE THE BEAUTY AND TEST OF OUR CULTURE. The very thing our people need is leadership that can sustain our achievements with a gallant heart and be able support and build a much stronger societies and volunteering in Bangor University. And that leader is your very own EMMANUEL ASANTE.
Let’s all bear in mind that WE’RE ONE PEOPLE, WITH ONE GOAL.
