All purpose rodent control products Despite the large amount of natural enemies, mice remain one of nature’s best equipped and most adaptable living creatures – right after humans. Yet uncontrolled breeding and unhealthy surroundings have made them a pest to the modern world. Scientists are always trying to find new ways to exterminate rodents. The company Unichem d.o.o. from Slovenia has an equal goal – with the help of a highly skilled research department, we are developing new rodent control methods and baits. Unichem`s strategy is based on knowledge, adapting to the always changing needs of our customers, and achieving and maintaining high-quality products and service. Our product line includes a wide variety of rodenticide baits for successful rodent control in every possible situation. Our offer expands onto 4 different variations. The most successful product is the soft bait, which is especially suitable for indoor use and where there is little water, for example in residential buildings and warehouses. It contains special fragrances, taste enhancers and oils to make it more appealing to rodents, even in places containing food, like food storages. With the appropriate precautions the baits may be used outside the buildings as well. Unichem`s Wax Blocks are intended for outside rodent extermination, in the vicinity of buildings or sewage pipes. The blocks come in two varieties: extruded and casted. The bait contains paraffin wax, which makes it more resistant to moisture and temperature changes, and added preservatives to prevent the product from moulding. Indoors we can use grain baits or pellets for rodent extermination. The later contains a mixture of cereals that attracts rats and mice alike. It can also be used for rodent extermination directly in their nests or tunnels. The grain bait is best used for the extermination of smaller indoor rodent populations. All baits contain Bitrex®, which is an aversive agent and prevents unintentional bait ingestion and makes it safe for humans and pets. The wax blocks, soft bait and pellets all contain preservatives for a longer storage life. 2

At Unichem we offer three different active agents: difenacoum, bromadiolon in brodifacoum. Currently each of the agents is featured under its own trademark, however this offer can be adapted, should the need or want arise. Rodenticide baits under the trademark EFFECT RODENT feature products containing difenacoum – the least toxic agent. These products are used for rodent control in apartment buildings and are especially effective against mice. In order to make these baits as user-friendly as possible, Unichem offers a specially adapted, very safe rodentbox in which the soft bait and wax block can be stored. The product then goes under the name of EFFECT RODENT BOX and is a very practical solution for use in areas, where there are children and pets. The active agent with the broadest spectrum of use is bromadiolon, which is featured in products from the RATIMOR line. It is used for rodent control of larger rodent populations, most commonly found in areas such as industry warehouses. Bromadiolon is very often the active agent of choice for PCOs (pest control operators). Brodifacoum is the most powerful of these active agents and is featured in products from the GLODACID PLUS line. It is used for the extermination of larger rodent brood. These products are highly effective even in small dosages – the rodents becomes poisoned with just the first bite. That is why products containing brodifacoum are classified as »single feed« active agents.

In Unichem bereiten wir vier unterschiedliche Produktenvarianten vor: Das belibteste Produkt ist der Pastenköder, besonders geeignet für Anwendung in Innenräumen und überall, wo es nur wenig Wasser gibt, wie z.B. in Wohn- oder Lagerhäusern. Er enthält spezielle Duftstoffe, Geschmacksverstärker und Öle, durch die es für die Nagetieren anlockend wirkt. Diese Zusätze sind stark genug, das Tier anzulocken auch in Räumen, wo es eventuell Nahrung geben könnte, wie z.B. in einer Lebensmittellagerung. Mit den richtigen Vorsichtsmaßnahmen darf der Köder auch außerhalb von Gebäuden benutzt werden. Unichems Wachsblöcke sind perfekt für die Nagerbekämpfung im Außenbereich, neben Gebäuden oder Abwasserröhren. Die Blöcke sind in zwei Varianten erhältlich: extrudiert oder gegossen. Der Köder enthält Paraffinwachs, für die erhöhte Resistenz gegen Feuchtigkeit und den Temperaturwechsel, und zusätzliche Konservierungsmittel um Verschimmeln des Produktes vorzubeugen. Für die Innenräumen können wir Weizenköder oder Pellets benützen. Die Pellets enthalten eine Getreidemischung, die sowohl Ratten als auch Mäuse anlockt. Es eignet sich auch gut für die Nagerbekämpfung direkt im Nester oder Tunnels. Der Weizenköder ist sehr effektiv bei Bekämpfung von kleineren Nagermengen in den Innenräumen. Alle Köder enthalten Bitrex®,

ein Vergällungsmittel, das eine versehentliche Einnahme des Köders von nicht gezielten Lebewesen verhindert und macht so das Produkt ungefährlich für Menschen und Haustieren. Die Wachsblöcke, Pastenköder und Pellets enthalten noch Konservierungsmittel für eine verlängerte Haltbarkeit des Produktes. Bei Unichem arbeiten wir mit drei verschiedenen Wirkstoffen: Difenacoum, Bromadialon und Brodifacoum. Jetzt wird jeder der Wirkstoffe unter seine eigene Marke präsentiert, doch wenn nötig, kann das noch nach Wünschen des Bestellers verändert werden. Die Nagerköder präsentiert unter der EFFECT RODENT Marke sind Produkte, die den Wirkstoff Difenacoum – den am wenigsten giftigen Wirkstoff - enthalten. Diese Produkte eignen sich besonders gut für Anwendung in Wohnungen und sind besonders wirksam gegen Mäusen. Diese Köder können wir mit der Unichem-Nagerschachtel, wohin wir die Pastenköder oder Wachsblöcke hineingeben, noch mehr anwenderfreundlich machen. So ein Produkt ist verkauft unter den Namen EFFECT RODENT BOX und ist ideal für die Anwendung in Bereichen, wo sich Kinder oder Haustieren aufhalten. Der Wirkstoff mit der höchste Anwendungsmöglichkeit ist Bromadialon, der in den Produkten aus der RATIMOR Linie zu finden ist. Es eignet sich sehr gut für die Nagerbekämpfung von größeren Nagerpopulationen, die oft in Gebieten wie Industrielagerhäusen zu finden sind. Bromadialon ist einer der von den professionellen Schädlingsbekämpfer meist gemochten Wirkstoffen. Brodifacoum ist der stärkste von diesen Wirkstoffen und ist in den Produkten aus der GLODACID PLUS Linie zu finden. Dieser Wirkstoff ist besonders wirksam gegen größere Nagermengen, sogar die sehr hartnäckigen. Alle diese Produkte sind hoch wirksam auch in kleineren Dosierungen – bereits eine einmalige Köderaufnahme führt in der Regel zum Tod. Deswegen werden die Produkte, die Brodifacoum enthalten als »single feed« Wirkstoffe klassifiziert. 3

This anticoagulant is used for effective extermination of rats and mice. It is especially efficient in pest control in urban areas, as its ready-to-use form and low dosage make it very user-friendly. Because difenacoum is much less toxic than other active agents like bromadiolone, brodifacoum, difethialone or flocoumafen it is more suitable for mice control in the hobby section.
