WHAT WE DO The clinical skills and simulation team are committed to the principle of providing professional learning that is truly authentic through a practical form of implementation. We offer nursing students the opportunity to gain valuable practical experience within a high tech, state of the art simulation suite which not only provides knowledge and training but also hands on experience within a mimic hospital environment. FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT At BESST the clinical skills and simulation team provide top of the range facilities and equipment in order for our students to gain the best experience and knowledge possible. What we provide:
FULLY EQUIPED THREE-BEDDED CLINICAL WARD AREA
• Provides a real life hospital ward atmosphere and look • Video monitoring to record practice sessions in order to provide feedback • Maternity ward • A&E • Intensive care unit
FULLY EQUIPED OPERATING THEATRE
• Operating theatre with fully operational hospitalized equipment ready to use and practice. • Scrub room
HIGH TECH MANNEQUINS
• Sim Baby: designed to help babies with resuscitation and help meet protocols in these situations • Nursing Anne: offers nursing orientation, practice of core nursing skills, medical and surgical practice, pharmacology and more • ALS Mannequin: Advanced life support mannequins If you have more specific questions about equipment, get in touch with the team and they will be happy to talk about the services we can provide.
