BREO - BREO is the virtual learning environment used to support course units throughout the University. You will use BREO to find support documentation for your lectures and assignments. Services from Home As a distance learner your contact with the University of Bedfordshire is remotely through our online services. Subject guides Subject guides identify the recommended resources on the web to use in your assignments, seminar tasks or presentations. Compiled by your Academic Liaison Librarians, (ALLs) the guides are a comprehensive overview of the best resources for your subject area, whether you want to find: • journal articles both full text and in print • dictionaries and encyclopedias collections to check terms and definitions that you may come across in your reading and during lectures • newspaper articles • relevant websites to find quality information • statistics • images You can view these resources online at: > lrweb.beds.ac.uk/guides

Referencing Referencing is a way of acknowledging that you have used the ideas and written material belonging to another author. It applies to what you have watched, listened to or looked at including electronic sources, like websites. > lrweb.beds.ac.uk/referencing
You can use this learning package from any internet-connected PC. However, you may be prompted for your library account to access quizzes and tests throughout this package. The objective of this learning package is to enable you to become a competent and confident user of not only our library products and services, but information in general. Ideally you should do the tutorials in order, building on your skills and knowledge as you complete each one. However, the package has been designed so that you can dip in and out of each unit as required.

Other university libraries You may be able to use a university library close to where you live. Use is offered under a co-operative scheme called SCONUL Access.
