Bedford River Festival The Bedford River Festival celebrates the the River Ouse with raft races, bands, a road parade, a firework display, and boat shows. Usually held over a weekend in July, the event also features a sports village, which creates a space for local sports clubs to demonstrate their skills. This event is regarded as being the second biggest free outdoor event in the country.

This popular annual event which is held in Russell Park, Bedford hosts the following: Kite Demonstrations & Workshops, Kite stalls specialising in kite equipment, clothes and other accessories, plus food & drink, entertainment, music and more!

Bedfringe was born very simply out of a visit to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe back in 2004. Subsequently, we teamed up with Sandra Dudley (of Art’icle magazine) with the idea of bringing a little bit of Edinburgh back to Bedford.
