He attended the Grant In All Age School, then the Buckley’s All Age School until age fourteen

Kermit was always ambitious, so he left Long Island and moved to New Providence in search of employment. He worked at Kerland Limited, Bahamas Agency Limited, for the Baker and Cates families and as a taxi driver for thirty plus years

In 1965 he met the love of his life, Myrtle Blanche Knowles of Millerton, Long Island They were united in Holy Matrimony at St Barnabas Anglican Church on June 15, 1966 This union was blessed with three children Olrick Sr , Kermit Jr and Teashala As a family, they faithfully attended St Anne’s Anglican Church He was a simple man and appreciated the small things of life He enjoyed attending Sunday early morning seven o’clock mass and being of service to others, especially when greeting the members and guests at the door giving out candies and mints

A family man, a man of few words, who did not have a mean bone in his body, Kermit made his mark in the world through his humbleness of heart, quiet demeanor, generosity of character and punctuality

Kermit was affectionately called, “Turnie”, “Comrade”, “Kerms”, “Sir K” and by his grandchildren, “Grampy” He was a loving father who spent quality time with his children and grandchildren He enjoyed taking them on long drives on Sunday afternoons, visiting family, harvesting sea grapes or coco plums, fishing, gardening, cleaning his taxi and chilling on his front patio after work

In 2017 Kermit’s health began to decline However, that did not handicap him from doing little odds jobs around the house, despite his feelings He never complained and was always grateful for each new day the Lord granted

On August 31, 2022, Kermit slipped away peacefully into eternity, where the wicked cease from troubling and the weary souls will be at rest

KERMIT

LEROY TURNQUEST

(In remembrance of our baptismal garments a white pall is placed over the mortal remains of Kermit.)

Priest: With faith in Jesus Christ, we receive the body of our brother Kermit for burial Our brother was washed in Holy Baptism and anointed with the Holy Spirit. Let us therefore, with confidence, pray to God our Heavenly Father, the Giver of life, that He will raise him to perfection in the company of the Saints.

Priest: The Lord be with you

All: And also with you.

Priest: O God of grace and glory, we remember before you this day our brother Kermit. We thank you for giving him to us, his family and friends, to know and love as a companion on our earthly pilgrimage In your boundless compassion, console us who mourn Give us faith to see in death the gate of eternal life, so that in quiet confidence we may continue our course on earth, until, by your call, we are reunited with those who have gone before; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

”Through All the Changing Scenes of Life”

Through all the changing scenes of life, In trouble and in joy, The praises of my God shall still My heart and tongue employ.

O magnify the LORD with me, Exalt his holy name; When in distress to him I called, He to my rescue came.

The hosts of God encamp around The dwellings of the just; Deliv'rance he affords to all Who in his promise trust.

O make but trial of His love; Experience will decide How blest are they, and only they who in His truth confide.

Fear him, you saints, and you will then Have nothing else to fear; Make serving him your sole delight, Your wants shall be his care.

To Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, The God whom we adore, Be glory, as it was, is now, And shall be evermore.

THE COLLECT FOR PURITY

Celebrant: Let us pray:

………………………………......…………………………………...………..…...…………

Lord, have mercy. Lord have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Christ have mercy. Lord, have mercy. Lord have mercy.

Almighty God, we remember before you today your servant Kermit, and we pray that, having opened to him the gates of larger life, you will receive him more and more into your joyful service, that, with all who have served you in the past, he may share in the eternal victory of Jesus Christ our Lord; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Most merciful God, whose wisdom is beyond our understanding, deal graciously with the family of Kermit in their grief Surround them with Your love that they may not be overwhelmed by their loss, but have confidence in Your goodness, and strength to meet the days to come; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Wisdom 3:1 5, 9

Olrick Turnquest Jr.

Reader: A reading from the word of God written in the Book of the Wisdom of Solomon, chapter 3, verses 1 to 5 and 9

But the souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and no torment will ever touch them. In the eyes of the foolish they seemed to have died, and their departure was thought to be an affliction, and their going from us to be their destruction; but they are at peace. For though in the sight of men they were punished, their hope is full of immortality Having been disciplined a little, they will receive great good, because God tested them and found them worthy of himself; Those who trust in him will understand truth, and the faithful will abide with him in love, because grace and mercy are upon his elect, and he watches over his holy ones The word of the Lord

All: Thanks be to God

The Lord’s My Shepherd”

The Lord’s my shepherd, I’ll not want he makes me down to lie in pastures green; he leadeth me the quiet waters by

My soul he doth restore again and me to walk doth make within the paths of righteousness e’en for his own name’s sake

Yea though I walk through death’s dark vale yet will I fear no ill; for thou art with me, and thy rod and staff me comfort still

My table thou hast furnished in presence of my foes my head thou dost with oil anoint and my cup overflows

Goodness and mercy all my life shall surely follow me and in God’s house forevermore my dwelling place shall be.

Reader: A Reading from the Word of God written in Revelation, chapter 21, beginning at verse 2.

And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband; and I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling of God is with men He will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself will be with them; he will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain any more, for the former things have passed away. ” And he who sat upon the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new. ” Also he said, “Write this, for these words are trustworthy and true.” And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end To the thirsty I will give from the fountain of the water of life without payment He who conquers shall have this heritage, and I will be his God and he shall be my son ” The Word of the Lord

All: Thanks be to God

Master, speak! thy servant heareth, Waiting for thy gracious word, Longing for thy voice that cheereth, Master, let it now be heard.

I am list'ning, Lord, for thee; What hast thou to say to me?

Master, speak! tho' least and lowest, Let me not unheard depart; Master, speak! for oh, thou knowest All the yearning of my heart, Knowest all its truest need; Speak! and make me blest indeed.

The Holy Gospel: John 11:21 27

Clergy: A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John

All: Glory to Christ our Saviour

“Master Speak Thy Servant Heareth”

Speak to me by name, O Master, Let me know it is to me; Speak, that I may follow faster, With a step more firm and free, Where the Shepherd leads the flock, In the shadow of the Rock!

Master, speak! and make me ready, when thy voice is truly heard, with obedience glad and steady, still to follow ev'ry word. I am listening, Lord, for thee: Master, speak, oh speak to me!

Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. And even now I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you ” Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again ” Martha said to him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day ”

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” She said to him, “Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, he who is coming into the world.” The Gospel of Christ

All: Praise to Christ our Lord

Priest: Let us with confidence and hope confess the faith into which we were baptized, as we say,

All: I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth

Revelation 21:2 –7 ………………………………... Kermit Turnquest III

I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried He descended to the dead On the third day He rose again He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father He will come again to judge the living and the dead

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Leader: Let us pray.

Almighty God, you have knit your chosen people together in one communion, in the mystical body of your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord: Give to your whole Church in heaven and on earth your light and your peace

All: Hear us, Lord.

Leader: May all who have been baptized into Christ’s death and resurrection die to sin and rise to newness of life, and may we with Him pass through the grave and gate of death to our joyful resurrection

All: Hear us, Lord

Leader: Grant to us who are still in our pilgrimage, and who walk as yet by faith, that your Holy Spirit may lead us in holiness and righteousness all our days

All: Hear us, Lord

Leader: Grant to all who mourn a sure confidence in your loving care that, casting all their sorrow on you, they may know the consolation of your love.

All: Hear us, Lord

Leader: Give courage and faith to those who are bereaved, that they may have strength to meet the days ahead in the comfort of a holy and certain hope, and in joyful expectation of eternal life with those they love.

All: Hear us, Lord.

Priest: Lord Jesus Christ, we commend to you our brother Kermit, who was reborn by water and the Spirit in Holy Baptism. Grant that his death may recall to us your victory over death, and be an occasion for us to renew our trust in your Father’s love. Give us, we pray, the faith to follow where you led the way; and where you live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, to the ages of ages Amen

Priest If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness

Let us therefore confess our sins

All: Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, we have sinned against you and one another, in thought, word and deed, and in what we have left undone. We are sorry and repent of all our sins. For your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, forgive us all that is past, and grant that we may serve you in newness of life to the glory of your Name Amen

Priest Almighty God, have mercy upon you, pardon and deliver you from all your sins, confirm and strengthen you in all goodness, and keep you in life eternal; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

And Can It Be”

And can it be that I should gain An int'rest in the Savior's blood? Died He for me, who caused His pain? For me, who Him to death pursued? Amazing love! how can it be That Thou, my God, should die for me?

'Tis mystery all! Th'Immortal dies! Who can explore His strange design? In vain the firstborn seraph tries To sound the depths of love divine! 'Tis mercy all! let earth adore, Let angel minds inquire no more.

He left His Father's throne above, So free, so infinite His grace; Emptied Himself of all but love, And bled for Adam's helpless race; 'Tis mercy all, immense and free; For, O my God, it found out me.

Long my imprisoned spirit lay Fast bound in sin and nature's night; Thine eye diffused a quick'ning ray, I woke, the dungeon flamed with light; My chains fell off, my heart was free; I rose, went forth and followed Thee.

No condemnation now I dread; Jesus, and all in him, is mine! Alive in him, my living Head, And clothed in righteousness divine Bold I approach the eternal throne, And claim the crown, through Christ my own.

Priest: Through Your goodness Lord, we have this bread and wine to offer, the fruit of the earth and the work of human hands. They will become our spiritual food.

All: All things come from You, O Lord, and of your own do we give you Blessed be God forever Amen

Priest: The Lord be with you.

All: And also with you

Priest: Lift up your hearts.

All: We lift them up to the Lord

Priest: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God

All: It is right to give God thanks and praise.

Priest: It is right, and a good and joyful thing, always and everywhere to give you thanks, Father almighty, everlasting God: Through Jesus Christ our Lord; who rose victorious from the dead, and comforts us with the blessed hope of life eternal For to your faithful people, O Lord, life is changed, not ended; and when our mortal body lies in death, there is prepared for us a dwelling place eternal in the heavens.

Therefore we praise you, joining our voices with angels and archangels and with all the company of heaven, who forever sing this hymn to proclaim the glory of your Name:

All: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might; heaven and earth are full of your glory, Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

Priest: Sovereign Lord and Father, To you be glory and praise for ever In your boundless wisdom you brought creation into being; In your great love you fashioned us in your image; In your tender compassion you sent your Son, Jesus Christ, our Saviour, to share our human nature; In the power of the Holy Spirit, He overcame the power of sin and death and brought your people to new birth as first fruits of your new creation.

On the night that He was betrayed He took bread, and when He had given thanks to you, He broke it and gave it to his disciples and said: “Take this, and eat it: This is my Body which is given for you, Do this for the remembrance of me. ”

And after supper He took the cup of wine: and when He had given thanks, He gave it to them and said: “Drink this, all of you: This is my Blood of the New Covenant, which is shed for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins Whenever you drink it, do this for the remembrance of me ”

Priest: Therefore, Father, according to the command of your dearly beloved Son

All: We remember His death

We proclaim His resurrection

We await His coming in glory

Priest: And we offer you, Father, our sacrifice of thanks and praise. Send your Holy Spirit on these gifts of bread and wine that they may become the Body and Blood of your Son, Jesus, our Lord and Redeemer. As we partake of this holy food of new and unending life, may your Holy Spirit establish us as a royal priesthood with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Blessed John the Baptist, Blessed Peter, Paul, Anne and all your sons and daughters who share in your eternal inheritance; Through Jesus Christ our Lord. With Him and in Him and through Him, by the power of the Holy Spirit, we worship you, Father Almighty, with all who stand before you in earth and heaven, in songs of everlasting praise:

All: Blessing and honour and glory and power be yours forever and ever. Amen.

Priest: As our Saviour has taught us, so we pray:

All: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your Name; your kingdom come; your will be done on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.

Priest: God of promise, You have prepared a Banquet for us

All: Happy are those who are called to the supper of the Lamb.

All: Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world: grant him rest

Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world: grant him rest

Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world: grant him rest eternal.

Priest: The Gifts of God for the people of God

All: Our souls will feast and be satisfied, and we will sing glad songs of praise to Him

“Sweet Sacrament Divine”

Sweet Sacrament divine, Hid in thine earthly home, Lo, round thy lowly shrine, With suppliant hearts we come; Jesus, to thee our voice we raise In songs of love and heartfelt praise: Sweet Sacrament divine.

Sweet Sacrament of rest, ark from the ocean's roar, within thy shelter blest soon may we reach the shore; save us, for still the tempest raves, save, lest we sink beneath the waves: sweet Sacrament ofrest

THE HYMN

Jerusalem the golden, With milk and honey blest, Beneath thy contemplation Sink heart and voice oppressed. I know not, O I know not, What joys await us there, What radiancy of glory, What bliss beyond compare.

They stand, those halls of Zion, All jubilant with song, And bright with many an angel, And all the martyr throng; The Prince is ever in them, The daylight is serene. The pastures of the blessèd Are decked in glorious sheen.

Sweet Sacrament of peace, Dear home for every heart, Where restless yearnings cease And sorrows all depart; There in thine ear all trustfully We tell our tale of misery: Sweet Sacrament of peace.

Sweet Sacrament divine, Earth's light and jubilee, In thy far depths doth shine Thy Godhead's majesty; Sweet light, so shine on us, we pray, That earthly joys may fade away: Sweet Sacrament divine.

“Jerusalem The Golden”

There is the throne of David, And there, from care released, The shout of them that triumph, The song of them that feast; And they, who with their leader, Have conquered in the fight, Forever and forever Are clad in robes of white.

O sweet and blessèd country, The home of God’s elect!

O sweet and blessèd country, That eager hearts expect! Jesus, in mercy bring us To that dear land of rest, Who art, with God the Father, And Spirit, ever blessed.

THE HYMN
…………….……………………………………………………………..…….………

All: Almighty God, we thank you that in your great love you have fed us with the spiritual food and drink of the Body and Blood of your son Jesus Christ, and have given us a foretaste of your heavenly banquet Grant that this Sacrament may be to us a comfort in affliction, and a pledge of our inheritance in that kingdom where there is no death, neither sorrow nor crying, but the fullness of joy with all your saints, through Jesus Christ our Saviour Amen

“Blest Are The Pure In Heart

Blest are the pure in heart, For they shall see their God; The secret of the Lord is theirs, Their soul is Christ's abode.

Still to the lowly soul Himself He will impart, And for His dwelling and His throne Chooses the pure in heart.

Priest: Give rest, O Christ, to your servant with your saints

The Lord, who left the heavens Our life and peace to bring, To dwell in lowliness with us, Our pattern and our King;

Lord, we Your presence seek We ask this blessing, too; Give us a pure and lowly heart, A temple meet for You.

All: Where sorrow and pain are no more, neither sighing, but life everlasting.

Priest: You only are immortal, the creator and maker of mankind; and we are mortal, formed of the earth, and to earth shall we return For so did you ordain when you created me, saying, “You are dust, and to dust you shall return ” All of us go down to the dust; yet even at the grave we make our song: Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

All: Give rest, O Christ, to your servant with your saints, where sorrow and pain are no more, neither sighing, but life everlasting.

Priest: Let us commend our brother Kermit to the mercy of God our Maker and Redeemer Deliver your servant, Kermit, O Sovereign Lord Christ, from all evil, and set him free from every bond, that he may rest with all your saints in the eternal habitations; where with the Father and the Holy Spirit you live and reign, one God for ever and ever. Amen.

(The Celebrant sprinkles the coffin with Holy Water to remind us that in the waters of Baptism we were made members of Christ, Children of God and inheritors of the Kingdom of Heaven Next, he censes the remains Incense is a symbol of the prayers of earth and heaven See Rev 8:3,4)

Priest: Lord have mercy

Priest: Lord have mercy

Our Father in heaven….

Priest: The Lord be with you

All: And also with you.

Priest: Let us pray

Into your hands, O merciful Saviour, we commend your servant Kermit Acknowledge, we humbly beseech you, a sheep of your own fold, a lamb of your own flock, a sinner of your own redeeming. Receive him into the arms of your mercy, in the blessed rest of everlasting peace, and into the glorious company of the saints in light. Amen.

Priest: Rest eternal grant unto him, O Lord

All: And let light perpetual shine upon him.

Priest: May he rest in peace....

Priest: May his soul and the souls of all the faithful through the mercies of God, rest in peace.

All: Amen.

For all the saints who from their labors rest, who thee by faith before the world confessed, thy name, O Jesus, be forever blest. Alleluia! Alleluia!

Thou wast their rock, their fortress, and their might; thou, Lord, their captain in the well fought fight; thou, in the darkness dread, their one true light. Alleluia! Alleluia!

Oh, may thy soldiers, faithful, true, and bold fight as the saints who nobly fought of old and win with them the victor's crown of gold. Alleluia! Alleluia!

For All The Saints Who From Their Labors Rest

Oh, blest communion, fellowship divine! We feebly struggle, they in glory shine; yet all are one in thee, for all are thine. Alleluia! Alleluia!

And when the fight is fierce, the warfare long, steals on the ear the distant triumph song, and hearts are brave again and arms are strong. Alleluia! Alleluia!

The golden evening brightens in the west; soon, soon to faithful warriors cometh rest; sweet is the calm of paradise the blest. Alleluia! Alleluia!

But, lo! there breaks a yet more glorious day; the saints triumphant rise in bright array; the King of glory passes on his way. Alleluia! Alleluia!

There’s a city of light Where there cometh no night ‘Tis a city of beauty untold; All my treasures are there And it’s beauty I’ll share; When I get to that City of Gold

When I leave all trouble and care, I will say good morning up there; I will have great gladness untold, When I get to that City of Gold

There’s no sorrow up there In that city so fair And no sickness can enter I’m told; Shadows all would have flown, I will meet friends I’ve known When we get to that City of Gold

Won’t you go there with me To the home of the free, Would you see Heaven’s beauty unfold; If you will, come along We will sing heaven’s song When I get to that City of Gold

There was a time I travelled A lonely sinful road Beneath a heavy burden bending low But now all things are different For Jesus took my load It’s alright now I’m His I know

It’s alright now for I am in my Savior’s care It’s alright now my Savior hears and answers prayers He’ll walk beside me ‘til I climb the heavenly stair And everything is alright now

A down a lonely pathway Without a friend to guide I walked in sin a sorrow all alone ‘Tis Jesus came and found me And drew me to his side It’s alright now for I’m His own

No more in sin I wander No more in darkness roam The Lord has placed my feet on higher ground Each day new heights I’m gaining My soul is nearing home It’s alright now I’m heaven bound

There will be a happy meeting in Heaven, I know When we see the many loved ones we’ve known here below Gathered on that blessed hilltop with hearts all aglow That will be a glad reunion day

A glad day, a wonderful day, A glad day, a glorious day.

There with all the holy angels and loved ones to stay That will be a glad reunion day

When we live a million years in that wonderful place, Basking in the love of Jesus, beholding His face. It will seem but just a moment of praising His grace That will be a glad reunion day.

TRIBUTE TO

HUSBAND

You were my friend, lover and husband for Fifty seven years and you made my life complete. You were truly my Romeo and knight in Shining Armour and the love we shared will never die.

I will forever treasure the numerous memories of hard work and accomplishing many goals together.

I was so dismayed and sad when you took ill, and I took care of you until the end.

For me it is very easy to say hello, but it is painful and aches my heart to say goodbye, because you are no longer by my side my love.

Until we meet again you will always be in my Heart.

Myrtle

Words are hard to find to describe how sad I am at you passing.

Dad you were an inspiration to me like you were too many others. You said few words but whenever you spoke there were always wisdom in those words.

I will always remember your punctuality and frankness in matters.

And by the way, how are so many of St. Anne’s Church Members going to make it through the 7am service on Sunday mornings without their mints (smile).

Dad you were truly one of God’s Gems and I supposed it was time to be called home.

I will truly miss you and look forward to seeing you once again.

Though illness took over your body, it didn’t have a chance to take over you ever positive thoughts on life. Rest in in peace with assurance that you will remain in our hearts and thoughts.

Take your well deserved rest until we meet again.

Like all dads, God had bestowed a special blessing, great responsibilities and fill you with unique and unimaginable qualities, not even the world could have understood You made being a distinguished, consummate gentleman look so easy, with humbleness of heart, honour and respect to all persons rich, poor, young and old alike.

I will miss sharing the immeasurable time we spent working, talking, laughing, crying and praying together. I will also miss sharing the love you gave me and the hugs and kisses I gave you on your forehead before leaving you for the day I will miss you support and great smile of affirmation

But most of all daddy, I will truly miss you. I can truly confirm that you made your peace with God and that you are resting peacefully where the wicked cease from troubling and your weary soul is at rest. That is my consolation daddy.

As a child when you held me in your arms, and spent a lot of quality time together. That was when I knew that we had shared a special bond. As I grew older, I remembered the good and bad days we went through, because no one is perfect. Being the only daughter, you were very happy and comfortable when we used to talk and laugh about the good old days. I even remembered how hard you struggle to take care of us. To go to work early at 4am and sometime come home late.

As a young woman this bond grew stronger, because you were not only my father but my best friend. You were such a humble and sweet person, and your smile brings light to everyone you come in contact with. Even the tourist you made friends with personally.

Daddy, when you fell sick, it was now my time to take care of you. I always felt your pain. As the years past and watching you deteriate, I knew you were ready to leave this world, but I did not know it would be so soon. I am happy that I spent every day with you especially throughout your illness. I will always love you, miss you and hold you dear close to my heart. Rest is peace my loving father. We will meet someday.

You possessed a true Bahamian heart. One that was understanding, kind, gentle and wise. You put others first. My family could not have had a better friend in their lives. You were constantly there for us and we are forever grateful. There is no doubt Eva waited to see “Her Brother” before she passed, the next day. You wept at Arthur’s bed, like a son. He loved you like a son. We all love you as family.

You are in my earliest memories as a little girl with your huge smile and effervescent laughter filling the room. One of my best memories was when you would let me shift gears in that old green van! I knew you were always there for me. Your generous spirit touched our hearts, and we hold you there forever. Our Lord welcomes you.

We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God called you home.

You left us precious memories, your love is still our guide. And though we cannot see you, you are always by our side. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same. But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

K ind hearted: Anyone who knew our Grandfather, knew that he would literally give you the shirt off his back if you ever needed help. Illustrating kindness and generosity was very easy. For this reason, he was admired and loved by many.

E arly: If it's anything that's pertaining to punctuality; it's written all over our Grandfather. Being on time and early was his number one priority. When it came to him, you would be an hour early before being 5 minutes late.

R espectful: Our Grandfather always taught us to be very respectful and to have manners always, because this is what he sternly believed in.

M odest: Though being strict and a man of "few words", he really exemplified the true definition of being Humble. Anyone that knew him could attest to his "heart of gold" and "loving humble spirit".

I conic: He was our Hero! Literally, the best to ever do it for us.

T hankful: Expressing gratitude was a very "Big" thing for our Grandfather. No matter how big or small of a task we did for him, his response would always be "thank you" or "thank you very much".

"Grampy", we thank you for being our Patriarch and Father Figure We thank you for instilling principles and morals in us that we will carry on throughout the rest of our lives We thank you for being there every step of the way, when no one else could We thank you for the endless sacrifices that you have made for us Watching you consistently work hard to provide the best for your family was not only impressive, but it was also inspiring. If we could grow up to have even half of your work ethic, we would be astonished and amazed. Thank you for teaching us the values of kindness and service to others. By showing us the importance of always having courage and kindness, you have raised us to value the importance of helping others and humility Thank you for the endless and valuable life lessons that you have instilled in us and for the many that you have left to teach us We can only hope to be half the Grandparent that you were some day

"Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal". Thomas Moore. As we say goodbye to your physical presence, we'll always remember you "Grampy" because there will never be another one to replace you in our hearts, and the love we will always have for you.

We, your 3D's are comforted knowing that your spirit will always be a part of us. Sleep on and take your Heavenly rest.

“It broke our hearts to lose you, But you didn’t go alone, a part of us went with you when, the day God took you home.

A million times we missed you, A million times we cried, if love could have saved you, you never would have died.

To the grave we travel, the flowers are placed with care;

No one knows the heartache, as we turn to leave you there.

If tears could build a stairway, and heartaches could make a lane, we would walk a path to heaven, and bring you back again.”

Grumpy, although we are sad to see you go, we are even more grateful that your suffering has ended. I pray that you find peace knowing that your legacy will live on through us. You are loved and you will be missed!

How did we get here?

For me, at one point I was afraid of you. Afterwards, I sat and laughed with you.

From me, I questioned if I ever did right by you. Now I know that I did everything right for you.

Words will never express how impactful you were to me; many times without you even saying a word.

The many lessons you taught me will stay with me forever; minus the times when I tried to be on time to stuff…. I’m still a work in progress here.

Regardless, I OWE THANKS & LOVE to you for it all.

Take your rest, you’ve earned it. No more pain. See you someday.

The special memories I have of you Grampy, your humbleness, kindhearted character and a man of few words will always bring a smile to my face. Grampy you will forever remain in my mind and I promise to hold you in my heart.
