Digital Fabrication - Design the future through the digital tools today
The digital fabrication program prepares today’s learners to become the next generation of problem-solvers and design-thinkers. Participants stretch their curiosity and creativity as they undertake a broad range of design challenges. Through collaboration, ideation and iteration, making, prototyping, and testing, the participants discover their interest. The program combines 3D design, fabrication, micro-controllers, and augmented reality to create a final product.
Junior Program (Age
9-14)
• Develop proficiency with Tinkercad 3D design system.
• Create with your team an interactive AR tour that works with CoSpaces.
• Discover micro-controllers and learn to code to activate sensors and controls.
• Make hardware and code to create interactive components on a breadboard.
• Design, test, and prototype components with 3D printer.
• Combine woodworking with digital fabrication techniques to create digital art.
Senior Program (Age
15-18)
• Explore robotic designs and build 3D models to mimic a design in nature.
• Explore robotic solutions with hands-on designs to solve environmental challenges.
• Discover micro-controllers and learn to code to activate interface devices.
• Learn about breadboards, LEDs, resistors, potentiometers, and servos.
• Design, test, and prototype components with 3D printer.
• Combine woodworking with digital fabrication techniques to create digital art.
Game Design
- Create Stories you read and play.
The game design program takes the participants into the exciting world of game design and story creation. Creating your own interactive world while learning fundamental coding, digital design, and literacy. Learn to turn your favorite game into an exciting and engaging world. The final product is a fully functional game that can be played on a mobile device or computer.
Junior Program (Age
9-14)
• Develop fundamental skills in coding, art design, and storytelling
• Build necessary components for a challenging and rich game experience.
• Work within a team through the design process and test your creation.
Senior game design (Age
15-18)
• Learn skills in coding, art design, and storytelling via 2D and 3D workshops
• Bring modeling software into your game design program for custom assets.
• Learn the design process and test your creation with your team.
• Bring your final project to life in VR or AR.

Entrepreneurship - Take your digital fabrication or game to market
Business of Your Own (Age 9-14)
Learn basic business concepts like the different types of organizations, the role of management, production and marketing. Participants learn how to run a successful retail business of their own and acquire and build upon their skills in: language and communication, numeracy and math, critical thinking, problem solving, creative thinking and decision-making.
Key program outcomes:
• Understand business goals
• Practice skills to run a business
• Develop and implement a business plan
• Identify the role of promotions
• Understand the role of financial record keeping
• Discuss product pricing
• Describe their experience in operating a business
• Learn about planning and running a business by analyzing your experience
Build A Tech Start-up (Age 15-18)
Participants develop knowledge to create a start-up and to pitch to a panel of experts. The program equips the participants with knowledge on planning out their company idea, to social media marketing, venture funding, public speaking, and business fundamentals. In additional, participants acquire financial skills to maintain and analyze financial records and create a business plan which will help them better establish their pitch.
