• Total Gross Built Up Area : 2500m2 (Fully Enclosed and Covered) of 1.5 acres

of site area

• Minimum 2 Storeys – Maximum 4 Storeys • OKU & Public Carpark Requirement: 30 pax • Building Typology - (1) Civic Building (2) Institution (3) Community Centre (programme-specific to project proposal

• Total Gross Built Up Area : 3500m2 (Fully Enclosed and Covered) of 2.5 acres

of site area

• Minimum 2 Storeys – Maximum 5 Storeys • OKU & Public Carpark Requirement : 30pax • Lift core – for OKU (universal design) • Building Typology - Mixed Development and Residential Component (30% from the Built-Up Area) (programme-specific to project proposal) • The residential component accommodates approximately not more than 60 pax with shared common facilities • Technical report (Integration with Working Drawing)

LEARNING OUTCOMES

UPON COMPLETION OF THIS MODULE STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO:

A. AR 518 (Architecture Design Studio 05)

- CLO1 Interpret an urban context into recognizable urban strategy with site and program planning. (C2, PLO1) - CLO2 Apply digital communication skills to communicate design intention and strategy. (C3, PLO2) - CLO3 Demonstrate the application of Uniform Building By Law and local authority requirement in design proposal. (A3, PLO4)

B. AR 718 (Integrated Architecture Design Project)

- CLO2 Demonstrate design Strategy in response to social/economic/cultural issue with program(s) and architectural intervention. (P4, PLO6) - CLO3 Develop technical documentation of intermediate-level design proposals towards a comprehensive and considered architectural proposition. (C6, PLO3)

SUBMISSION MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (AR 518 & AR 718)

1. INDIVIDUAL PROJECT BRIEF & DESIGN STATEMENT

Design research (should include Project 1, 2, 3 earlier research. You are to highlight the main issues of the present site, design objectives, chosen theme, literature review and how the proposed intervention can contribute to solve the aforementioned issues.

2. CONCEPTUAL DIAGRAMS ILLUSTRATING DESIGN PROCESS & SITE NARRATIVES

A sequential presentation of the design development

3. ARCHITECTURAL GA DRAWINGS / BUILDING PLANS

[To include furniture layouts, landscape/hardscape/urban furniture etc]

- Site Plan 1:500 - Plans 1:200 / 250 - Sections 1:200 / 250 - Elevations 1:200 / 250

4. 3D DRAWING / ARTWORK / ILLUSTRATIONS

Drawing boards of sizes A1 or AO (minimum of 4 drawings or more)

- Site Section - Building Section - Building Axonometric / Sectional Axonometric / Exploded Axonometric - Perspective - Artwork of Hybrid / Mixed-Media / Manual Collage / Cut-Out drawings - Lino Cut and Block Printing
