‘Sacrifice’ This painting depicts my interpretation of the balance between humans living in darkness versus living in light, and the sacrifices that have been made for humanity throughout time. My use of bold and bright reds are to symbolize our life force while the black, white and shades of grey symbolize the darkness and the light. This is a 20” x 20” acrylic abstract painting on stretched canvas using palette knives, sponges, and my hands, and it’s finished with a satin varnish.

‘Microcosm’ While I was painting this piece I was envisioning the centre of the earth filled with beautiful bright red crystals and feeling hot flowing lava, the energy and power behind it, and how magnificence of our planet. I used naphthol red, alizarin crimson, iridescent pearl, and gold on a black background. This is an 11” x 14” acrylic abstract pour painting on stretched canvas using a dirty pour technique, and finished with a satin varnish.
