2020-2021 ANNUAL REPORT
OUR MISSION
In the midst of CRISIS, lies great OPPORTUNITY.
- Albert Einstein
DEAR FRIENDS The challenge of 2020-2021, combined with support from donors like you, resulted in great opportunity for United Way of Denton County. We leveraged long-standing relationships forged over 68 years to lead a network of partners in reimagining how we respond to our community’s needs and build greater opportunity for every person in Denton County. Our partnership with Denton County to mobilize over $12.5M of federal funding helped stave off economic devastation for our community with much-needed assistance with rent, utilities, food and more. (pg 8)
BUT, NOT EVERYONE IS BACK TO NORMAL. 2
United Way of Denton County
To improve and transform lives in Denton County. With your help, we strive to build a community that thrives by creating the infrastructure for Workforce Success (pg 6), making homelessness rare, brief, and nonrecurring (pg 4), guiding and serving our Veteran community (pg 5), and reimagining mental health services (pg 5) – all through a lens of racial equity.
The challenge has never been greater – but neither has the opportunity. Your support is vital to realizing these opportunities to improve and transform lives in Denton County.
THANK YOU!
