celebrating 30 years

‘The most ambitious theatre in Liverpool...’ The Guardian

Welcome Back! In the last few months we’ve been scouring the world for the best theatre, performance and family shows and we’ve come up trumps in our new season, where, as always, the thing to expect is the unexpected! Taking the title of the show literally, Upside Down, Wrong Way Round will see the building transformed as a promenade performance leads around unity’s nooks and crannies with actors in cupboards, dressing rooms transformed and a world of smoke, mirrors and magic conjured before your very eyes. The climax of long-running collaborations sees Gold Mountain with award-winning French Canadian company Les Deux Mondes in unityone and site-specific masterpiece For The Best as part of Liverpool’s Year of Health. All this supported by top touring companies Spike Theatre [The Games], Vanishing Point [Interiors] and Coal Theatre [Fragility of X], family shows with Moonfleet and When We Lived In Uncle’s Hat, the ever-popular Terry Titter and of course our Christmas family extravaganza, an adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s ‘The Red Shoes’. I hope you get chance to visit us this autumn, without our audience, our supporters and you, our friends, we are just a building on a street. All the best,

Graeme Phillips ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
