Módulo I Metodología y comunicación científica Integrado por tres materias: Comunicación científica, Diseño Experimental y Cápita Selecta en Alimentación y Salud. Los contenidos de las materias hacen referencia al acceso a las fuentes de información científica, manejo de bases de datos, presentación y comunicación científica, así como al método científico, todo ello aplicado a temas de Nutrición, Alimentación y Salud. Incluye además, casos prácticos y formación en últimas tendencias en Alimentación, Nutrición y Salud.

Módulo II Trabajo fin de máster El alumno realizará un proyecto de investigación a lo largo de todo el curso académico, con una mayor dedicación tras la finalización de las actividades presenciales. Cada alumno del Máster contará con un tutor perteneciente a la Universidad de Navarra. El Trabajo Fin de Máster se podrá realizar en un departamento de la Universidad de Navarra o en otra universidad o institución (nacional o extranjera). El 60% de los proyectos Fin de Máster se presentan en inglés.

Módulo III Nuevas tendencias en Alimentación y Nutrición Integrado por dos materias: Técnicas de investigación en alimentación y Formación optativa. Proporciona una formación integral en técnicas, metodologías y buenas prácticas en el ámbito de la investigación científica básica y/o aplicada. Este módulo incluye, además, diferentes asignaturas optativas que abordan contenidos avanzados y especializados en Nutrición y metabolismo molecular, alimentos funcionales, patrones alimentarios, y su relación con la salud desde la evidencia científica.

The Master’s program has been positively evaluated by the ANECA VERIFICA program. It brings internationally renowned professors and practicing health professionals together to provide highly specialized instruction.

Since 2011, the European Master’s has been ranked first in the newspaper El Mundo’s list of Spain’s best master’s degree programs in the field. More than 15 graduating classes can vouch for this graduate program. Most program professors also work at the University of Navarra’s Center for Nutrition Research.

Curriculum The curriculum is organized into three modules. Module I, “Scientific Method and Communication” (16 ECTS credits), Module II, “Master’s Thesis Project” (30 ECTS credits) and Module III, “New Trends in Food and Nutrition” (14 ECTS credits).

Module I Scientific Method and Communication This module encompasses three subjects: Scientific Communication, Experimental Design and Selected Topics in Food science and Health. These subjects discuss access to the sources of scientific information, database management, and scientific presentation and communication, along with the scientific method, all applied to topics in nutrition and food science. It also includes case studies and training on the latest trends in food science, nutrition and health.

Module II Master’s Thesis Project Students carry out a research project over the course of the academic year, especially after classroom activities are completed. All Master’s Degree students are assigned a tutor from the University of Navarra. The Master’s Thesis Project can be conducted in one of the University of Navarra’s departments or at another university or institution (in Spain or abroad). 60% of Master’s Thesis Projects are presented in English.

Module III New Trends in Food and Nutrition It is made up of two subjects: Food Research Techniques and elective courses. Comprehensive training is provided on techniques, methods and good practices in the areas of basic and/or applied scientific research. This module also includes different elective subjects addressing advanced and specialized content in molecular nutrition and metabolism, functional foods, eating patterns and their relationship with health based on scientific evidence.

¿Por qué en la Universidad de Navarra?

Graduates holding degrees in the Bio-health and Experimental Sciences or in the Health Sciences (Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Pharmacy, Food Science and Technology, Biology, Biochemistry, Medicine and Chemistry) or equivalent degrees who are interested in acquiring an in-depth understanding of food, nutrition and health.

International opportunities Every year, students take part in the program in scientific activities held in different European countries.

Interested students can carry out their Master’s Thesis Project at one of seven European universities: » Maastricht University.

A record of excellence

The Master’s program has been positively evaluated by the ANECA VERIFICA program. It brings internationally renowned professors and practicing health professionals together to provide highly specialized instruction.

Since 2011, the European Master’s has been ranked first in the newspaper El Mundo’s list of Spain’s best master’s degree programs in the field. More than 15 graduating classes can vouch for this graduate program. Most program professors also work at the University of Navarra’s Center for Nutrition Research.

Curriculum The curriculum is organized into three modules. Module I, “Scientific Method and Communication” (16 ECTS credits), Module II, “Master’s Thesis Project” (30 ECTS credits) and Module III, “New Trends in Food and Nutrition” (14 ECTS credits).

Module I Scientific Method and Communication This module encompasses three subjects: Scientific Communication, Experimental Design and Selected Topics in Food science and Health. These subjects discuss access to the sources of scientific information, database management, and scientific presentation and communication, along with the scientific method, all applied to topics in nutrition and food science. It also includes case studies and training on the latest trends in food science, nutrition and health.

Module II Master’s Thesis Project Students carry out a research project over the course of the academic year, especially after classroom activities are completed. All Master’s Degree students are assigned a tutor from the University of Navarra. The Master’s Thesis Project can be conducted in one of the University of Navarra’s departments or at another university or institution (in Spain or abroad). 60% of Master’s Thesis Projects are presented in English.

Module III New Trends in Food and Nutrition It is made up of two subjects: Food Research Techniques and elective courses. Comprehensive training is provided on techniques, methods and good practices in the areas of basic and/or applied scientific research. This module also includes different elective subjects addressing advanced and specialized content in molecular nutrition and metabolism, functional foods, eating patterns and their relationship with health based on scientific evidence.
