WTF is IBS and why does everyone have it...

one are the days when you can wakeup hungover and peacefully enjoy a bagel with cream cheese. For those of us with sensitive stomachs, your hungover bagel order comes with a side of an IBS attack. And for those of you who don’t understand what we’re talking about, we’re very envious.

will still hurt your stomach. Try creating a list of foods on your phone to keep track of what works for you and what doesn’t. If specific foods are giving you problems over and over again, try cutting them out or gradually eating them less.

As affordable foods become more processed and whole foods become more expensive, it can be difficult for those with IBS to find a regime that isn’t ripping up your gut. There has to be a way to eat a slice of pizza and not look like you’re about to give birth to twins...

Maybe it’s not the Food

Stress and anxiety are at an all-time high, especially in college and a lot of us forget that mental health and physical health are much more connected than we think. Ever noticed that your stomach only starts acting up when you’ve been assigned more work than usual? This could be from a high volume of stress or anxiety. We carry a lot of this tension in our gut, so it makes a lot of sense when richer foods begin causing upsets, especially during the school year. Getting stress and anxiety under control is an endless battle, however, relieving these two in some way or another may be the end-all-be-all for your stomach issues. Whether you relieve your stress by working out, taking a nap, or getting your nails done, finding an outlet to get some peace of mind during anxious times is a guarantee to calm down your nerves and ease your stomach.

It’s important to mention that we are by no means registered dieticians who can give you medical-grade advice on how to solve your stomach problems. However, there may be a few hidden secrets to why your gut hates you. As I’m sure many of you know, all of us hot girls experience IBS differently. While some of us can go maybe three times in two weeks, others are going three times in one day. These differences can make it hard to find the perfect solution for your problem while scrolling on IBS TikTok.

Trial and Error

One thing we suggest is a little trial and error. Since everyone’s experience is different, everyone’s treatment will be slightly different as well. It is important to try solutions one at a time, listen to your body, and know it’s okay to give up on those fiber gummies or the magnesium you’re taking even though it works perfectly for your friend. Solving your hot girl stomach problems is not an overnight fix, it takes time to understand that the cure-all is not a bottle of TUMS.

Listening to Your Body

Listening to your body is key when it comes to figuring out your stomach problems. If you eat pasta one night and it hurts your stomach, it’s fair to say if you eat the same thing the next day, it 46 UGIRL

any reaction, and some may cause a literal warzone in your stomach. Read over the list of high FODMAP foods and try cutting them out for a week or two. If you start feeling better, you can slowly incorporate these foods back into your diet to understand what works best for you.

Cutting out High FODMAP foods Now if you take one thing away from this article it should be this: attempting and “Resetting” your Gut Health trial-and-error, listening to your body, Ever heard of Fermentable Oligosaccharides, Disaccharides, Monosaccharides, and Polyols? No? Yeah, us either. But what you might have heard of is the low FODMAP diet, which could be the solution for some of you hot girls out there. FODMAPs are a type of carb found in various foods that can cause your body to absorb too much water and ferment in your stomach. The list of foods that FODMAPs are found in is pretty extensive but the big ones are gluten, sugar, and lactose. Following a diet that cuts out high FODMAP foods can be a difficult transition. However, as we said before, everyone is different. Some higher FODMAP foods might not cause

cutting out high FODMAP foods, and/ or leveling your stress might STILL not help all you hot girls out there. It’s important to remember that stomach pain, especially the extremely severe, sometimes just needs the attention of a professional. Trust us, often they actually have some helpful things to say. And in the end, always remember that you’re hot and there are a billion other hot girls out there that are going through the same pain (literally).
