JULIA KEEN GREENWAY JULIA KEEN IS A QUITE NEIGHBORHOOD SOUTH OF 22ND STREET, WHICH IS PART OF SIX SITES THAT MAKE ONE WHOLE BICYCLE BOULEVARD. WE ARE REIMAGEING WHAT THIS BIKE BOULEVARD COULD BE FOR PROP 407. OUR GOALS FOR THE NEIGHBORHOOD OF JULIA KEEN IS TO STRENGTHEN THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND THE REST OF THE CITY OF TUCSON. OUR SECOND GOAL IS TO MITIGATE FLOODING WITH THE USE OF GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE ALONG THE PATH AND MAKE THE NEIGHBORHOOD SAFER BY REDUCING THE SPEED OF CARS. THESE GOALS WERE ESTABLISHED FROM THE ANALYSIS WE DID AS A TEAM AS WELL AS CONCERNS FROM LOCATE COMMUNITIES.

THE GOAL OF THIS PROJECT IS TO: COMMUNITY CONNECTION 1. CONNECTION THE NEIGHBORHOOD TO THE CITY, BY CREATING A STRONG CONNECTION TO THE TO EXISTING BIKE PATH FLOODING 2. MITIGATE FLOODING, BY REROUTING STORM WATER THROUGH SERIES OF GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE AND STRATEGIES THROUGH OUT THE SITE SPEEDING 3. ALLEVIATING CARS SPEEDING ON PALO VERDE BY NARROWING STREETS WITH MEDIANS, ADDING ROUNDABOUTS AND SPEED BUMPS
