Meet our guest lecturer Chris Williamson –Incoming RIBA President and UEL Honorary Doctorate Holder

Chris Williamson, founder of Weston Williamson WW+P, is the next RIBA President for 2025-2027. A leader in sustainable design, he has worked on major projects like Crossrail and HS2. His firm’s award-winning work balances technical excellence with quality. Williamson is also active in sustainability and urban planning, serving on several advisory panels.

A show by Ecem Ergin

Dr. Fatma Ecem Ergin is an architectural photographer, researcher, and Assistant Professor at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. With degrees from Pratt Institute and the Bartlett School of Architecture, her work explores media, architecture, and urban spaces. A self-proclaimed “building peeper,” she captures poetic urban juxtapositions, drawing from experiences in Istanbul, New York, and London. Through her photography, research, and teaching, she inspires curiosity and a deeper appreciation for the built environment.

We’re thrilled to announce an innovative cross-department collaboration between our Fashion Marketing & Communication and Gaming students to develop an interactive fashion game, bringing a digital and physical showcase of the Moodi Studio collection, an up-andcoming Iranian fashion brand expanding to the UK!

Facilities Tours

After your subject talk, enjoy a 20-minute tour of our state-ofthe-art facilities. Fashion facilities at the Docklands campus include pattern cutting and sewing studios that boast state of the art machinery for manufacturing. Production and media students benefit from a range of green screen, newsroom, mac labs, edit, games and animation suites.

Join Mohammed Meah as he demonstrates our portable vitalograph and peak flow meter, showcasing their role in physiological measurement and societal benefits. He’ll also highlight their relevance to our BSc Medical Physiology and Biomedical Sciences courses.

Practice Fundamental Nursing Skills

Come and learn a range of fundamental nursing skills, such as how to clean, dress, and bandage different types of wounds, hand washing techniques, infection control and more. Our nursing students will demonstrate equipment use and answer your questions about studying Nursing.

Learn About Athlete Performance Testing

Join our Sports Science team to see athlete performance testing in action, including VO2 max, strength, and agility monitoring—just like Hashtag United players recently did!

Undergraduate Scholarships

The following non-repayable scholarships are available for new students starting in 2025/2026 via a competitive application. Scholarships are awarded based on a combination of merit and need.

• Vice-Chancellors Scholarship (£28,605 over course duration)

• Dean Scholarship (£13,500 over course duration)

• Partner Scholarship (£1,000 in the first year only)

• UTC Scholarship (£1,500 in the first year only)

• Sports Scholarships (Up to £6,000 per year)

Postgraduate Scholarships

The Postgraduate Loan, as well as the opportunity to be awarded from our financial package of postgraduate scholarships, can help with course fees and living costs while you study a master’s course.

Our Student Money Advice and Rights Team (SMART) provide personal advice about fees and funding options, including our generous package of scholarships and bursaries.

To find out about the Postgraduate Loan, please attend one of our finance talks where we will explain how the scheme works. You can also find out about our scholarships, including how to make an application for our Postgraduate Scholarship, and receive up to 50% off your course fees.

I didn't grow up with loads of money and studying in London didn't seem like an option for me. I applied for the Vice Chancellor Scholarship and getting it has meant I can live in halls and get the full university experience.

UEL After Dark Festival 2025

An evening of Fire & Circus

Thursday 27th February

5–8pm

Prepare to be captivated by fire displays, dazzling acrobatic performances and hands-on workshops to spark your creativity.

Join us at 5.30pm on an illuminated community parade through the campus to SportsDock, which will be transformed for one night only into a Big Top! After Circus Pzazz’s show from 6:15-7pm you can try out your own juggling and monocycle skills at our drop-in workshops.

After Dark is free of charge and open to everyone, with a range of local street food on offer to warm up your winter evening.
