Your course

Computers enhance our quality of life and aim to meet the challenges that ongoing advances in technology create. This course explores a range of topics, such as, programming, software engineering, mathematics and mobile computers. We’ll look at the theory and the practical side of things to help you develop your abilities.

Your tutors will encourage you to identify tough problems, and then work out how to solve them through software. You might get involved in developing software solutions using the latest artificial intelligence techniques. Or perhaps you’ll look at how to use computer applications in engineering or scientific experiments.

You’ll be taught through a combination of formal lectures, tutorial groups, practical laboratory work and seminars. The course is accredited by the British Computing Society (BCS) and gives you the chance to apply your skills in the real-world with an optional one-year placement.

BBB/DMM/ Merit at T Level/120. Plus GCSE Maths at grade 5/B or above and English Language or Literature at grade 4/C or above

4 years full-time 5 years inc. placement year

Entry requirements:

AAB/DDD/Distinction at T Level/ 136. Plus GCSE Maths at grade 5/B or above and English Language or Literature at grade 4/C or above

Accreditation

These courses are accredited by the British Computer Society (BCS), the Chartered Institute for the IT industry. They are also accredited for Chartered IT Professional (CITP) status, BCS’s own Chartered qualification. These courses are accredited to also partially meet the requirements for CEng status. This accreditation is reviewed on a regular basis.
