Your course

This course provides the opportunity to study either adult, child, learning disability or mental health nursing in a flexible way to fit study around work and life. Regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), with strong partnerships with National Health Service (NHS) Trusts, private and voluntary organisations, as well as teaching and support from experienced lecturers, practice supervisors and assessors, this course could be a great place for you to take the first steps towards making a huge difference to people’s everyday lives.

The course uses mainly digital technologies and also includes practical, hands-on experience. Although the theoretical component is predominantly delivered online, you’ll attend the campus in Huddersfield for a maximum total of 20 days per year of the course. This will provide the opportunity for you to attend occupational health sessions, mandatory training, module assessments and to practise skills in a safe and controlled environment.

Placements

You’ll have the opportunity to put the skills and knowledge you’ve learnt into practice through clinical placements in a variety of healthcare environments as close to home as possible.

Your future

A career in nursing can be varied and interesting with a wide range of career opportunities available. This could involve working within the National Health Service (NHS) and private or voluntary sectors in hospitals, local healthcare trusts, the community, charities, short-term care providers, as well as a wide range of other healthcare settings.

Course length: 3 years full-time

Entry requirements: BBB*/DDM/120*/Merit at T Level/ Access to HE Diploma with 45 Level 3 credits 15 at Distinction and 30 at Merit

Additional criteria: Located within the North East, Yorkshire and the Humber, Cheshire and Merseyside, North West, Cumbria or North Lincolnshire

Have completed 12 years of general education

GCSE English Language or English Literature and Maths at grade 4/C or above, or Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English

Access to a computer with a reliable internet connection

Understanding of the specific field of nursing you are applying for
