Biology (Molecular and Cellular)/ Biology (Molecular and Cellular) with Research Placement BSc(Hons) Your course From developing effective vaccines to bringing about advances in DNA forensics, molecular and cellular biology has been behind many modern scientific breakthroughs. These courses provide a well-rounded introduction to biological sciences. Covering topics across biochemistry, genomics and cell biology, you’ll have the chance to build your understanding of the molecular explanations for life processes. As you progress, you’ll delve deeper into subjects you’re interested in by choosing from a list of optional modules. You’ll be taught by academics with doctoral-level with expertise in their subject areas through a combination of lectures, tutorials and practicals in our modern labs. In your third year, we’ll give you the opportunity to undertake a placement in industry or, if you choose Biology (Molecular and Cellular) with Research Placement BSc(Hons), a supervised research placement. It’s all designed to help you put theory into practice and gain valuable experience to boost your employability once you graduate.

Example modules • Molecular and Cellular Biology • Biochemistry • Research Skills • Mechanisms and Pathology of Cancer and other Chronic Diseases
