Are you looking for a healthcare profession changing people’s lives? Do you want clear career progression and high levels of employment working with the National Health Service (NHS) or running your own practice? If so studying for a Podiatry degree could be for you.
Course length: 3yrs full-time 4½yrs part-time
Podiatrists are allied healthcare professionals who assess and treat the lower limb and foot. They work in a number of specialist areas with people of all ages including musculoskeletal podiatry, sports injuries, biomechanics and gait assessment, orthotics, wound care, tissue viability and nail surgery. Podiatrists contribute to improving quality of life for patients with diabetes, rheumatological, vascular or neurological disorders. Our course provides you with the opportunity to build the theoretical knowledge and practical skills you need whilst learning in specialist clinical facilities. You’ll gain vital experience using our fully equipped on-site podiatry clinic, surgical theatre suite, biomechanics gait analysis equipment and orthotics laboratory.
Placements You’ll have the opportunity to put what you’ve learnt into practice in the real world through clinical placements. These are undertaken in a range of different NHS settings including hospitals, community clinics, multidisciplinary teams and specialist services. In your final year you may also have the opportunity to undertake an international placement in countries such as Australia and New Zealand.

Entry requirements: BBB* inc. a Science, Sports Studies or Physical Education**/DDM inc. modules in Science/120 inc. a combination of Level 3 qualifications* in Science, Sports Studies or Physical Education**/ Pass Access to HE Diploma with 45 Level 3 credits, 30 at Distinction, to include 15 credits in Science or Psychology and 15 Level 3 credits at Merit Additional criteria: GCSE English Language or English Literature and Maths at grade 4/C or above, or Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English Have normally completed some Level 3 study within the last 6 years Understanding of the profession Interview and references DBS and occupational health check *The endorsement for practical work is an essential part of Science A Level study, and is a requirement for entry to our degree course. **Excluding General Studies.
