Our campus

When you explore our campus, you’ll find evidence of Huddersfield’s proud industrial heritage, with beautifully converted stone mills and a working canal. But thanks to our ongoing investment, there are plenty of impressive 21st Century buildings too.

Investment in our campus

The places and spaces you study in will shape your experience here. That’s why we’ve invested £157 million into our campus buildings and facilities. Including:

• £30m - Barbara Hepworth Building for art, design and architecture

• £31m - Joseph Priestley Building for applied science

• £27.5m - Oastler Building for law and humanities

• £22.5m - Student Central, the hub of campus

• £12m - 3M Buckley Innovation Centre. In 2024, we’re opening the National Health Innovation Campus, expanding opportunities for you to study for rewarding careers in health and social care.

A green and sustainable campus

At Huddersfield we’re committed to sustainability, reducing our impact on the environment and tackling the Climate Emergency.

To make Huddersfield (and the world) a greener, better place to be, we are:

• Planting one tree for every student who enrols with us.

• Investing over £1m in carbon reduction measures over six years.

• Ensuring our new buildings are constructed to UK and internationally recognised sustainability measures.

• Investing in digital solutions.

• Putting sustainability at the heart of our curriculum.

• Developing the sustainability agenda through research.

• Enhancing biodiversity on campus.
