Global societies

Join any one of our 60 global societies, which represent the different cultures, languages and nationalities on campus. As part of a global society, you’ll find a welcoming group of students that work together to host events, share traditions and experiences, and provide you with a diverse network of friends.

Global events calendar

At Huddersfield, there’s always a full calendar of cultural and globally focused events taking place throughout the year, which you can attend or even take part in hosting. It’s a great way to make new friends and expand your global knowledge.

Global Week

Global Week is a dedicated week of cultural celebrations, with events including the Food and Culture Festival, the Global Fashion Show, the World of Sports Tournament and the Global Tea Party.

Offering a wide range of social events and volunteering opportunities, as well as being home to over 160 sports clubs, societies and academic societies, your Students’ Union is led by students for students. The Students’ Union is here to help you feel part of the Huddersfield community.

ActiveHud is the sport and physical activity service here at the University. We provide for all levels of ability to enable you to improve your health and wellbeing. This includes an Active Wellbeing programme, Social Sport programme and an exciting gym, swim and class offer that you can access on campus and in Kirklees Active Leisure centres across the region. Our facilities include a double sports hall, a three-floor gym and two multipurpose studios.
