LIVING ON CAMPUS
Congratulations on your admission to the University of Kentucky! As you prepare for this exciting chapter, make sure to complete your UK Campus Housing and Dining application and contract.
Choosing to live on campus is one of the smartest moves you can make as a new student. Immersing yourself in the vibrant community of Big Blue Nation not only enhances your university experience but also boosts your chances of academic and social success. When you live on campus, everything you need—classrooms, dining options, the library, student support services, and friends—is right outside your front door. This proximity fosters a more engaged and balanced student life, which often translates into higher GPAs and a more fulfilling college experience.
GET AHEAD WITH YOUR HOUSING APPLICATION APPLY ASAP!
As soon as you receive your acceptance letter, complete your housing application. Applying early increases your chances of securing your preferred housing options. Your admissions process and the date you submit your UK Campus Housing and Dining application and contract impact your priority during Room Selection. To finalize your application, make sure to submit the $50 non-refundable fee and sign the Campus Housing and Dining contract.
“You are within 10 minutes of everywhere! That’s what it feels like. I just walk out of my dorm, and I can go get lunch somewhere. I can go to the library or walk to Ag North (where most of my classes are). Living on campus is close to everywhere. You don’t have to find a parking spot and drive all the way over here. It’s the convenience of it. It doesn’t take a lot of planning. You can just walk to events when you live on campus.”

“I’ll study in my room if it’s regular homework, but if it’s a big exam I’ll go to the study rooms just to be in a different space because I don’t like to study where I sleep. I feel like it causes stress. I’ll go into the study rooms, do whatever I need to do, and come back to my room after I finish.”
MADY, SOPHOMORE
“We just head to the dining hall when we’re hungry. It makes it easy. None of us have to cook. We do have some snacks in the cabinet, so sometimes we’ll have popcorn or pretzels, but the dining plan takes care of everything.”
