START YOUR JOURNEY: ACTIVATE YOUR LINKBLUE ACCOUNT Every student who is admitted to the University of Kentucky will need both a linkblue account and a UKY email account. Your linkblue ID and password are your universal credentials to everything online at the University of Kentucky and are critical to you as a UK student. You’ll use them to confirm your attendance; register for classes; access the student billing and payment system; apply for Campus Housing; access UK systems like myUK and Canvas; and a lot more.

Follow these steps to get started. To activate, you will need the following information from your admission letter: • UK ID Number - This number is eight digits in length. • Student Temporary Passcode This code is six characters (alphanumeric). Next, go to newstudent.uky.edu. For step-by-step directions through the activation wizard, visit go.uky.edu/activate. For additional help, call 859-218-4357. Once logged in to the UK Account Manager an activation wizard will provide step-by-step information guiding you through the process. You will receive a notification when the entire account manager setup has been completed. Create a new linkblue password. Click “What is the linkblue password policy?” for the requirements for a secure password. We strongly encourage you to provide a personal email address and mobile number for account recovery purposes. This will allow you to unlock your account if you’re locked out or forget your password. You'll register a device for Two-Factor Log-in to create a secure account. Then, you'll create a new linkblue password. You will also be able to upload a photo to your account for your WildCard student ID that you'll pick up at Big Blue Nation Orientation!

4 Start Your Journey: Activate Your linkblue Account

START YOUR JOURNEY: ACTIVATE YOUR UKY EMAIL ACCOUNT Please note that the “Finish” button must be checked before you can use your account. If at any time this process is interrupted or you quit before completing all steps and clicking “Finish,” changes will be lost and you will have to start again. Click “Next” to continue. After you set up your linkblue account, continue the activation process and create your university email. • First, determine your official UK email address. An email address will be provided, but you have the option to alter the email address if you prefer. • Once entered, click “Next.” • The next screen provides an account settings overview of your profile. Here, you can make changes to any areas previously covered in the setup process. Once satisfied with the account settings, click “Finish” and wait for the information to process. • Do not refresh the page or you will have to begin the entire Account Manager setup again. • Once processed, the screen informs you of your account information again. WILDLY POWERFUL COMMUNITY: LIVING ON CAMPUS uky.edu/housing Some of the best memories of college come from living on campus. Friends are made every day in a residence hall, on a walk to class, or over a delicious meal. Living on Campus Helps You Make the Grade... and Graduate on Time Living on campus has a positive impact on a student’s retention rate. Students are more likely to return for their second year at UK if they live on campus and have an even better retention rate if they participate in a Living Learning Program. We know that Wildcats are happier, more successful, and more involved when they live in a residence hall. First fall GPAs for students living on campus average 3.07, 0.36 higher than students living off campus.

Living Learning Program — Classrooms Right Outside Your Door go.uky.edu/llp UK provides a residential academic experience through the Living Learning Program. In all of these communities, students can live with other students who share like-minded interests or similar academic majors. Each community participates in a connected course where LLP members challenge and support one another in a classroom environment. Additionally, each LLP provides unique experiences that include building relationships with faculty, off-campus trips and volunteer opportunities, and careerrelated experiential education. Space is limited for specific communities, so be sure to keep track of application deadlines.

• Belle C. Gunn First-Year Program (Agriculture) • Audre Lorde Social Justice • Business Enterprise • C.I. Connect • Community of Scholars • Creative Arts Residential College • EdLife Scholars • Engineering Living Learning Program (ELLP) • First-Generation Scholars • The International Village • Interprofessional Healthcare Residential College (IHRC) • EdLife Wellness Scholars (formerly KHP Wellness) • Leadership and Service • STEMCats * Fall 2021 LLPs; Living learning programs and their locations are subject to change.

Participating in the Living Learning Program determines the residence hall that you will live in, and your roommate will also be a participant in the same LLP as you. Many LLPs also accept transfer students. Find the right LLP for you at go.uky.edu/llp
