A GUIDE TO LIVING AND DINING ON CAMPUS

SET YOURSELF UP FOR Greater Success AT UK

APPLY EARLY

Complete the Housing application as soon as possible after receiving your acceptance letter. The earlier you apply, the more likely you are to have your housing preferences met. Your admissions track and the completion date of your UK Campus Housing and Dining application determines, in part, your priority for Room Selection. The application is considered complete once the $50 non-refundable application fee is received and the Campus Housing and Dining contract has been signed.

LIVING ON CAMPUS

Once you’ve been admitted to the University of Kentucky, the next step is to complete your Campus Housing and Dining application. Choosing to live on campus is the best decision you can make as a student. Living in the heart of Big Blue Nation makes UK more fun, helps you foster deeper friendships, become more connected and be more successful. Classrooms, eateries, the library, student support services and your friends ... they’re all here. When you live on campus, you will be more supported socially and academically – that’s why students who live on campus tend to have higher GPAs than their peers living off campus.

WANT TO LIVE WITH PEOPLE WHO SHARE YOUR INTERESTS? PARTICIPATE IN A LIVING LEARNING PROGRAM.

UK’s Living Learning Program allows you to be part of a strong, tight-knit community focused on your interests, major or career path. You’ll meet and make friends with people who share your passions and your classes, participate in special events and experience the support of your fellow classmates, advisors and professors working with your LLP community. Join one of our many thriving, supportive communities focused on helping you make the most of your college experience. Space is limited, so apply early and keep track of your application deadlines.

Living on campus gives you a lot more time. I had some weird gaps between classes and it was easier for me to go home and eat dinner or lunch and not have to go all the way off campus. I was also able to go to the gym before classes sometimes and I had a lot more time to figure out my schedule. As a freshman, you’re trying to figure out how to make your day more organized and having more time was beneficial.

“A meal plan is the easiest way to eat on campus. It eliminates the hassle of having to cook and buy groceries. You always have a hot meal ready at either dining hall on campus. My favorite meal on campus is the chicken fingers at Champions Kitchen.”

“Haggin is my favorite residence hall because of how close it is to The 90 and to the library. It was also next to my 8 a.m. classroom building. My favorite thing about living on campus is the proximity to everything – dining halls, classrooms, library. The bed is very comfortable and the shower is super spacious, too.”
