Get the whole experience For many, intercollegiate athletics is essential to the university experience. NCAA Division I football and 15 other men’s and women’s sports provide excitement and build affinity. The Mean Green competes in Conference USA with Rice, Louisiana Tech and UT-San Antonio. UNT’s new Apogee Stadium provides the ultimate game day experience. Last year’s winning season culminated with the football team taking home the Heart of Dallas Bowl championship trophy.
All that jazz — and more About 1,000 concerts a year are presented by UNT’s world-renowned College of Music. You can enjoy music of all kinds, but we’re famous for jazz — the One O’Clock Lab Band has been nominated for six Grammy Awards. New student union The campus is buzzing about the new University Union, which is scheduled to open in Fall 2015. The union will feature many dining options, entertainment spaces, student lounges, meeting rooms, art galleries, banking and a campus bookstore, auditorium and rooftop garden. Construction is expected to cost about $130 million, with plans for the building to achieve the highest LEED certification level, Platinum.
New business building The Business Leadership Building features 24 classrooms with video projection screens, a securities trading room, team study rooms, outdoor terraces and cloud computing. It accommodates 8,000 students and is certified LEED Gold for sustainability.
