RESULTS All of our degrees offer academic opportunities you won’t find anywhere else. Whether they take place in a classroom, a lab or in a corporate office, each hands-on project gives you the chance to explore new ways to solve problems. Here are just a few examples:

B REAKING BARRIERS

Psychology students research how to solve the racial and ethnic disparities in diagnosing and treating young children with autism spectrum disorder — specifically focusing on those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

B USINESS LEADERS

Marketing students gain real-world expertise by working directly with companies such as 7-Eleven to develop creative solutions to help overcome challenges in the evolving marketplace.

D RONES FOR DEFENSE

Engineering students work on developing a better fuel injection system for military drones. This will improve the reliability of using drones in hopes of having fewer soldiers on the ground in the future.

C RAFTING SAFETY

During the COVID-19 pandemic, visual arts and design students collaborated with engineering students to create face shields so UNT students would still have access to safety equipment when they returned to their labs.

Chemistry students research phosphorescent molecules in one of UNT’s College of Science chemistry laboratories. University of North Texas goto.unt.edu

Mean Green football recently made back-toback bowl game appearances — and Mean Green game day means it’s time to slip on your green shirt, warm up your Eagle Claw, and get ready to cheer on our Mean Green athletes as they compete at the highest level. It also means heading to the Hurley Administration Building as we light the McConnell clock tower green to signal each athletic victory.

The Mean Green Men’s Basketball Team earned an automatic bid to the 2021 NCAA March Madness Tournament after winning the Air Force Reserve Conference USA Basketball Championships. North Texas won four games in four days at the conference tournament, becoming the first team in the league to accomplish that since Houston in 2010. In addition, they made UNT history when they broke brackets by beating No. 4 Purdue 78-69 in overtime in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Their dance came to an end after a loss to Villanova in round two, but not before their scrappy attitude made news across the country.
