Master of Occupational Therapy Clinical Excellence through Graduate Education
MOT Program at USA
Our full-time Master of Occupational Therapy program at the University of St. Augustine offers you the chance to become part of a profession that is focused on helping others. Our faculty is driven to help you develop into an occupational therapy practitioner who takes pride in offering clinical excellence to patients. The curriculum’s holistic design prepares students to practice in settings that provide treatment for those with developmental, physical or mental health deficits that can occur across the lifespan. Our curriculum builds upon itself, offering students foundational courses such as: anatomy, biomechanics and pathology. Students then enter into their clinical coursework, which highlights a broad spectrum of areas of OT practice such as pediatrics, geriatrics, orthotics, neurology and more. The culmination of the program ends in two, twelve week clinical fieldwork experiences that are conducted in real-world clinical settings. The University’s pioneering efforts in Physical and Occupational Therapy education brought distance education and its associated technologies to our degree and nondegree programs. By using distance education, we are able to bring education anytime, anywhere and to supplement all programs with the ability to review and study online. Our students, even when on clinical affiliation, continue to receive instruction from the University through our distance education platform. We strive to offer the highest quality classroom instruction and online courses while taking pride in making the entire educational experience accessible and interactive for students. This blended learning approach allows our students to have a vast range of learning techniques at their fingertips. All online courses were developed with an in-depth understanding of the educational needs of our students, how they will best retain the information provided to them and the ease of accessibility to key university support services and staff to offer assistance along the way. Our lab classes are taught in a hands-on setting, while some portions of the course content are presented through a variety of interactive distance activities and augmented by in-class discussions. All courses utilize some online learning component. Our MOT program is offered at both our St. Augustine, FL and our San Marcos, CA campus locations and can be completed in 6 trimesters, or two years!
