A few words from Will Varnam, Students’ Union Academic Vice-President

As the Summer Term looms closer, we’re continuing our communication with you over Learning Works: the refocusing of the undergraduate curriculum. In this second brochure we’ve worked with the University to answer a variety of your questions from School meetings held throughout January and February. We hope that you find this information useful and to your benefit. Also included is an outline of the new structure of the academic year, something we’re very excited about. The combination of semester and year-long modules, allowing more spaced out assessment deadlines, will give you more time to focus on your work and hopefully achieve better grades. The Students’ Union has continued to work in partnership with the University over the Learning Works initiative and is dedicated to ensuring that student views stay at the heart of the project and that current students are not disadvantaged by the transitional process. We are enthusiastic about the employment focus that Learning Works provides and look forward to seeing the new curriculum flourish in the coming months and years.
